Illinois History

• Located in the Midwest region of the United States, the State of Illinois is the most populous quarter of the country. The same is limited to Wisconsin to the north, Indiana to the east, south Kentucky, and Iowa and Missouri to the west. The Illinois history is quite similar to many other American States: the region belonged to France until 1763, when it passed to the British rule. After the War of Independence of the United States in 1783, the Americans took control of the territory, and December 3, 1818, created the State of Illinois.

Unidos, o Estado de Illinois é o quarto mais populoso do país. O mesmo limita-se com Wisconsin ao norte, Indiana a leste, Kentucky ao sul, e com Iowa e o Missouri a oeste. A história de Illinois é bastante semelhante a de muitos outros Estados americanos: a região pertencia à França até 1763, quando passou para o domínio britânico.
