Proposal submitted December 2010 to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Cooperative Agreement Program for the National Academic Centers of Excellence in Youth Violence Prevention (RFA-CE-10-004).

Given the high rates of youth violence for some groups of Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) adolescents and lack of effective programs for these youth, the APIYVPC’s mission will be to reduce and prevent youth violence for AAPIs by implementing, evaluating, and disseminating a more comprehensive approach to youth violence prevention. This approach will integrate a strategic set of evidence-based approaches into the social-ecological framework, thus fostering a more community-wide, sustainable, and effective youth violence prevention model that will serve as a national prototype.
