JD Edwards Self Service Password Reset (SSPR)

The password reset procedure can be a time-consum-ing process, with a significant throughput time from the initial password reset request through actually receiving the renewed password. As end-users typi-cally have to wait while the helpdesk processes their request, end-user downtime increases with produc-tivity losses as a result. With service request outside of the helpdesk service window and users in various time zones, productivity losses are further increased. When the helpdesk does provide a fast processing of the password reset request, this high service level might come at a considerable cost.

Forza Consulting’s Self Service Password Reset enables end-users to securely reset their passwords by simply using the Forgot Password button on their JDE login screen. The user will then be presented with predefined end-user specific verification question to which only they know the answer. Upon providing the correct answer a temporary password is automatically provided to the end-user. The end-user logs in to JD Edwards with this one-time valid password and is immediately prompted to renew his password, completing the password reset pro-cess within minutes.

Security Forza Consulting’s SSPR solution safeguards security as it is fully integrated within JD Edwards. The application includes features to configure secret verification ques-tions and maintaining all end-user sensitive information including email addresses and end-user specific answers, all securely stored within JD Edwards. The number of pre-defined verification questions is configurable.

SSPR eliminates the risk of fraudulent password reset requests, as only the end-user knows the answer to his verification question and only the end-user receives a one-time valid password.
