Our initial thoughts

•  The existing Jacob Burns campus and curriculum provide an ideal foundation to evolve the program on line and in digital formats

•  The new platform could and should support the way you have activated a community and leveraged film to promote collaboration and creative develop on an individual and social level

•  This should include a way for users to participate in both a casual and committed way by either attending on line ‘events’ or registering for formal classes

•  The on line educational platform will integrate well with existing software just as the media lab does in the physical world

•  A digital platform offers tremendous opportunity to build upon what you have done and expand it both geographically and creatively

•  This is a rare opportunity to expand your core mission in digital media, social networking and on line video in a way that is central to the lives of young people in the way film was in the 20th century.

Our approach to development

Discovery and Planning

Definition and Design

Development

Deployment

Our development team takes things over and builds the product as specified during the design phase. We configure modules and write the code to support what the user sees as well as the supporting back-end technology. If required for the project we configure and implement a content management system to support the defined editorial workflow.

Before the project is launched we conduct quality assurance tests in our environment and then on the production environment. Technical documentation and training for your staff is provided to ensure that you have the power to own and maintain the project independently of Funny Garbage.

The first phase of any project is to make sure that we understand your business goals and desired outcomes. We also work with you to develop a set of prioritized requirements for the site so we can better define the scope, schedule and cost of the project. The result of Discovery and Planning is a business and technology blueprint for the remaining steps of the project.

Based on the requirements defined in planning, work starts to translate ideas into designs. User experience defines the process flow and our creative team works with you to establish the overall look and feel for the product. We define and design the technical components of the site, including community and commerce functions. Integration with existing products and systems is also designed to ensure that a complete product has been defined.
