Dear IMEA District 7 Jazz Directors, We hope this finds you well as the end of the 2016-2017 school year comes to an end. All required audition music for the 2017 ILMEA junior Jazz Festival is included in this packet. Auditions are on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Round Lake High School (800 N. High School Drive, Round Lake, IL). The Jr. Concert Band auditions will be held at the same location. The Jazz Festival will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Woodstock High School (501 W. South Street, Woodstock, IL). Below is a description of the audition requirements for all instruments. If you have any questions regarding the music feel free to contact Bryan Itzkowitz. Please note that VIBES should be listed as a separate audition not dependent on drum set. 1.) Jamey Aebersold book and CD #54 F Blues “Tootsie” ➢ Brass and Reeds should play the head then 2 solo choruses. ➢ Drummers should play time with the CD through the head then alternate 4 measures of time with 4 measures of solo through 2 choruses. ➢ Guitar, Vibes, and Piano – play melody 1x, comp 2x, solo 3x ➢ Bass Players – play melody 1x, walk 2x, solo 3x 2.) Dear IMEA District 7 Jazz Directors,
