Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement
• ○ A formal negotiation began in Brussels in April between the Government of Japan and the European Commission to conclude a Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement.
• ○Right now a third round of the negotiations is on-going in Brussels again.

A Tax Convention between Japan and Portugal
• ○ A Tax Convention to Avoid Double Taxation and to Prevent Fiscal Evasion in Japan and Portugal was signed at the end of 2011.
• ○ Following Portuguese Parliament’s approval, Japan’s Diet gave the green light to the Convention in June, 2013.
• ○It entered into force in last July.
