Script for presentation : Japan Good evening everybody. My name is Wanatchaporn Kongnakorn,and can call me “Nok”. I’m a mechanical engineering student at King Mongkut’s institute of Technology Ladkrabang. And I study in English for communications class. Today, I’m going to talk about Japan. There are 3 main ideas which are about history of Japan, tourism and food in Japan, and lastly about technology. Japan is called "Land of the Rising Sun" because it is in the east where the sun rises every day. Also 'Rising Sun' was an operation in the Pacific War against Japan. Japan history begins with the migration of people from the Asian mainland during a period in which the sea separating present day Japan from China and the Korean Peninsula was only partially formed. When the sea rose and the land bridges washed away, these first inhabitants of ancient Japan were left to settle the islands. During the final stages of World War II in 1945, the United States conducted two atomic bombings against Japan in the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki . Second, I would to tell you about tourism and food. Japan has the beauty and splendor of ancient shrines, temples, and traditions as you explore Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara and other cities throughout the country. And there are many fun places to go in Tokyo ,like Ueno Park, Tokyo Tower, the Tokyo Dome or even Disneyland. Just wandering around randomly is fun too, you might stumble across a place you like. Food in Japan, Japan has a large variety of dishes and regional specialties, known for their emphasis on the quality ,presentation ,and careful seasoning of the food dishes include Ramen ,Soba ,Sushi and Tempura. Lastly, I would to tell you about technology in Japan. Japanese research and development efforts increasingly stress solution, or combining advances in different technologies to generate new products and innovations. Japan leads the world in robotics, possessing more than half of the world’s industrial robots used for manufacturing. Finally, I choose Japan for presentation because Japan is a beautiful country, a mix of tradition and technology, with lots of interesting places to visit.
