Monroe County has over 25 parks where we can enjoy the splendors of the Genesee River, Irondequoitcreek, Mendon Ponds, great views, birds, trees and wide open spaces. Get your Parks Passport and join useach month as we visit a new park, enjoy a snack, and broaden our experiences in the natural spaces ofMonroe County. It is required that participants bring water, sunscreen/hat, layered clothing for comfort,shoes appropriate for outdoor walking and folding chairs if desired. They used pepperfor preserving food and also as a medicine. Though in Kerala, it was a crop used only for medicinalpurposes, it had a much more important place in Europe. The Kerala backwaters are a chain of brackish lagoons and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast(known as the Malabar Coast) of Kerala state in southern India.

Walk Across America Karen Hogan Every Other FridayBeginning Jan. 4th • Fitness Room

In this walking program, open to both residents and associates, participants will be given a pedometer totrack their daily steps. The steps will then be tracked on a map of the United States as the group walksacross America! Executive Director, Karen Hogan, will kick off this program on Friday, January 4th inthe Fitness Center with bi-weekly meetings in the same location to track progress as well as provide triviaand discussion about the cities and towns along the route. Residents walk at their own pace but will beexpected to record their steps on a daily basis. You can even join Karen on all or part of her daily (Mondaythrough Friday) walk around the main building - leaving the front desk at 8:30am (unless she is pulledaway to other duties)!

Joan Bardossi Various Course Instructor

Joan has always been passionate about travel and history and cooking allows her to pursue those passions.With most of her career spent in hotels, Joan was fortunate to work at the Olympics in Beijing andLondon. Her career led her to Watermark Retirement Communities by way of the Rochester Legacy group.Joan feels everyday she is able to interact with incredible associates and residents. She is always learningevery day from their experiences and generous sharing of lifetime knowledge and wisdom. WatermarkUniversity is allowing Joan to too share her passions with others. Joan's family and friends have alwaysbeen a great support in all that she’s done. To say what she is passionate about, Joan feels it is necessarythat she include her furry kids. Izzie, a sheep dog, and Emma, a mixture of all sorts, greet her every daywith enthusiasm and a search for a treat. In her free time Joan also enjoys hiking, swimming, kayaking andpaddle ball keep her busy.

Dorothy Procaccini recently joined the Clover Blossom team as Community Life Associate. Shediscovered a passion for spending time with seniors when her father was living at a local Senior Facility,and the residents would flock to her and her children during their visits. When she is not workingshe enjoys spending her free time with her husband and their three children, traveling, and volunteeringfor various charities.

Beth Brancato has been traveling since she was an AFS student in Greece as the age of 16. Shecurrently lives in Victor with her two pups, 11 chickens, and 2 goldfish and when Beth is not traveling, she’ssharing the world with people via photos, demonstrations, and cultural artifacts.

Jeanine DiNardo Card Making

After teaching scrap booking for 10 years, Jeanine decided to continue her love for paper-crafting with thecreation of beautiful greeting cards for all occasions. Jeanine teaches the class with the help of her friendswho also love paper-crafting. Jeanine's Aunt Angie is a resident and she enjoys being able to spend timewith her and always meeting new friends. With her first year of teaching at Clover Blossom coming to,Jeanine and her friends are looking forward to another great year of card making.

Marisa Pinner Various Course Instructor

Marisa is the Community Life Director at Clover Blossom. As a Suny Oswego graduate with a wellnessdegree, Marisa loves all aspects of community life. In her free time, Marisa loves hiking, kayaking, crafting,and continuing her education. Having been born and raised on Long Island, Marisa's favorite part of livingin Rochester is all of the accessible wildlife and nature. Marisa believes that your life is not definedby quantity of years alive but by the quality of life spent during those years.

Eileen Limburg Noodle Size

Eileen Limburg has been leading her noodle size class here at Clover Blossom for several years. She wasborn in Brooklyn but moved to Rochester at one years old and has been here ever since. Eileen got herstart as a physical education teacher and moved up to elementary education before retiring. Her love forteaching has not faded as she now loves leading her Noodlesize classes. In her free time Eileen enjoystraveling and reading.

Lee Welles Various Course Instructor

Lee Welles is a former Community Life Associate at Clover Blossom. Prior to her 2016 move to Rochester,Lee spent 22 years in Corning, NY. She was the owner of MARS Fitness Services, a private training andcorporate consulting business. Lee was a elected as a City Councilman 3 times, and was Corning's firstwoman Deputy Mayor. In addition, Lee is the author of the award-winning Gaia Girls Book Series (ChelseaGreen Publishing) Lee continues to write, and is currently working on the third book in the series.

Diana has been sharing her creative talents with the Legacy at Clover Blossom over the past 15 years.Growing up, Diana had always expressed a love for art but was never able to fully explore her interestsuntil she was able to retire. Now, with over twenty years of experience as an artist, Diana has perfectedher own unique style of teaching, using common color schemes and specific size canvas to create beautifulworks of art. Diana's favorite part about being an instructor is the look of amazement when her studentssee their final product, she believes everyone has talent and bringing that talent forth brings a happinesslike no other.

Steve Lambert Current Events

Steve Lambert is a resident at Clover Blossom. Born and raised in Boston, Steve is a WWII Veteran thatspent 33 months and 19 days in Cushing Veteran Hospital recovering from his service. Steve is a retiredRochester City School District teacher and administrator. During his time, he taught mathematics from 7thgrade arithmetic to Spherical Trig and Calculus at Madison High School and Adults at East Evening School.The Rochester City School District arranged for Steve to become an administrator in various capacities atMadison, East and Edison Tech. During his career Steve was the recipient of the Stromberg CarlsonFellowship, the General Motors Fellowship and a National Science Fellowship.

Elvira Echols Spanish 101

Elvira is the Business Office Manager for Clover Blossom. Born and raised in Southern California, Elvira andher husband made many moves before deciding to finally settle in Rochester and raise their family in2005. Elvira has been in property management for more than 10 years. When she isn't glued to hercomputer, Elvira loves to spend time with her husband Don and daughter Joon, watching movies andplaying board games.

Raphaela McCormack Tai Chi

Raphaela is a certified Qi Gong Therapist, that completed her studies with Master Lisa B. O'Shea, at the QiGong Institute in Rochester NY in 2004 and with Master Robert Peng, at the Elixer of Light Healing Schoolof Qi Gong in 2008. She has been a loyal student of Qi Gong since 2001, and practicing as a therapist andteacher in the greater Rochester area since 2004. She has given talks and workshops on the benefits of QiGong and works with cancer survivors on a regular basis. Raphaela is also an artist and has a studio at theRochester Public Market.

Before coming to CloverBlossom Jerry was the Executive Chef at the Penfield Country Club for 10 years after leaving his job at BocaLago Country Club in Boca Raton FL, where he was again the Executive Chef for 11 years. Jerry grew up inRochester and began his love for food working in his families Restaurant, "The Colonial" and party house,"Logan's Party House" until he went to the Culinary Institute of America.

Joellen Khul Laughter Yoga

Joellen, along with her partner Dale Heffer were trained by Dr.Kataria himself in 2007 to become certifiedLaughter Yoga Instructors. Together, they have been sharing laughs, reducing stress, and encouragingresidents to use their mind to tell their body how to feel.

Larry Shearer Music & Life

Larry Shearer is a retired college professor who presently resides in the Rochester suburb of Brighton. Hehas been presenting his music programs at Clover Blossom over the past 10 years. Larry is a long timemusic enthusiast. In addition to the music he plays, each program presents participants with biographicalinformation, interesting stories and historical/ cultural information relating to these great entertainersfrom the past.

Shari Cascio Jewelry Making

Shari started making jewelry several years ago after her husband gifted her with a rock tumbler forChristmas. After tumbling thousands of semi precious gemstones, inspiration struck and Shari began herJewelry making business. As a self taught artist, Shari created her class to help others see that they too canmake beautiful jewelry on their own! Jewelry making is a fun creative outlet that's great for gift giving.Who doesn't love a homemade gift of Jewelry!

Karen Hogan began as the Executive Director at the Legacy at Clover Blossom in August of 2018. Previously, Karen has worked at a number of senior communities in Rochester mainly in Community Life. Most recently she was employed by Cloverwood Senior Living for almost ten years. A Syracuse native,Karen has lived in the Rochester area for over twenty years. She is married and has two furry children, hercats Sam and Dean. In her spare time, Karen enjoys traveling, long-range hiking, lots and lots of reading,and watercolor painting.

Dennis (Denny) Brunner Wood Working

Making useful and decorative wooden items for family and friends has been a passion for Denny since hewas a young adult. Denny spent 36 years at General Motors as a Mechanical Engineer designing “carparts”, while woodworking in his spare time. After retiring in the fall of 2008, he was asked todemonstrate his woodworking skills at a local senior living center. Believing that a “hands-on” approach isbetter than just watching a demonstration, he developed a project for the participants to build under hissupervision. That was the beginning of ArborArt Workshops. Since March of 2009, ArborArt has been conducting workshops for 4-H groups, schools, senior centers,scout troops, recreation departments and libraries on weekly, monthly or one-time bases. Each sessionhas been created to give participants the opportunity to build useful items from wood, using a variety ofskills in assembling, sanding, drilling, nailing, gluing, staining and finishing.

Jean Bell & Liz Tyner Country-Style Pysanka

Jean Bell has been creating Easter eggs, crafts and paintings since she was old enough to hold a crayon.She learned to make "Country Pysanka" from her mother and grandmother. It is a traditional folk art fromEastern Europe. Jean loves to share this family tradition and has taken it to classrooms, scout meetings,libraries, and wherever there are people who want to try their hand at it. Jean retired from XeroxCorporation in 1999 and enjoys traveling with her husband George, especially to the countries of origin fortheir parents families. Jean will be assisted by her sister, Liz Tyner, who is a resident here at Clover Blossom!

Kristy Rawson Intro to American Sign Language

Kristy has been with Clover Blossom for 8 years and is the Move In Coordinator. As a Brockport Graduate,Kristy is looking forward to growing in her position! Kristy's favorite part of coming to work everyday isseeing her residents and being able to make them smile. When Kristy's not at Clover Blossom, you can findher hanging with friends, playing with her puppy, or planning her next travel trip!

Andrew (Drew) Arthur

Born and raised in Rochester, Drew has worked in the food service industry, in one way or another allhis life. In the late 70’s & early 80’s he began as the manager of the “Liquor Bank” liquor store in WestBrighton. From there he went to work as a server and then bartender for several places like GroundRound, Red Lobster and Oakley’s in marketplace mall. In 1991 Drew took the position as dining roommanager for the Gables at Brighton senior living community. This was a great experience for him, settingup the food service program for this upscale independent senior living facility with an assisted living wing.In 2001 he returned to Rochester to be with his father who was then suffering from Alzheimer's. In Augustof 2007, Drew was offered the position as Dining Services Manager for the Legacy at Clover Blossom & thelive in Safety Coordinator at the Legacy at Willow Pond in Penfield where he now lives. Drew truly lovesworking in senior communities and has met the most wonderful, interesting and caring people, residentsand staff. He is looking forward to a long and successful career here with the Legacy at Clover Blossom.

Terry Neal Hanger Knitting

Terry Neal is a resident at Clover Blossom. Terry loves to make beautifully knitted hangers for herneighbors here and many of their families and friends. Terry started her craft making hangers while shewas living in Florida. Terry loves living at Clover Blossom and is very active in many of our activities. Sheloves to swim in our indoor pool and attend our pool exercise classes that are offered. Terry has alreadymade over 200 hangers for the people here at Clover Blossom. She enjoys using her free time to do goodfor others through her hangers!

Rosemary Irwin Various Course Instructor

Rosemary Irwin lectures throughout our local area on topics as varied as health care, history, art, andtechnology. Over the past five years, she has facilitated classes created by Harvard, Stanford, andHumanities New York, translating complex material into lively non-academic discussions. Rosemary enjoyslecturing about many different topics because it keeps her audience interested in coming back for more!
