Manager’s Message Here we are about to enter another new year. This is the time we all make resolutions that, if we are lucky, we manage to follow until the end of one full month, maybe two. One resolution that is easier to keep than others, is the promise to treat yourself better. It is a true statement that when we take better care of ourselves, whether it be physically or mentally, we not only feel better inside, look better on the outside, but we tend to treat others in our lives better.

This being said, The Cooking School is a great place to take time for yourself. When you take a class, you expand your culinary horizons by trying a new food or cuisine, learn a new cooking method, master an ability like knife skills, meet someone new who shares your passion for cooking; overall, relax with some time away from your busy life.

You will find all these things and more here at the Tops Cooking School, where “You always get our best at the TCS!”

Elizabeth BauldRochester Cooking School Manager

Kids’ Kitchen PAGEs 2 - 4

Just like with the adult classes, our instructors came up with some fresh, new ideas for your children for the kid’s classes this quarter. Unlike the adult classes where you have the option of attending a demonstration or hands on class, ALL the children’s classes are hands on. We do it this way because a couple of things happen when kid’s do their own cooking. First of all, they are more willing to try a new food if they made it. Secondly, they tend to learn better hands on than just watching. And third, because there are other children in their group, they tend to have more fun and socialize.

Adult Classes PAGEs 5 - 8

This quarter, all of our instructors were challenged with the task if coming up with some fresh, new ideas. You will be very pleased with what they came up with. As usual, we offer both hands on and demonstration style classes. So, choose they style that best suits your learning style and join us.

Discover Your HealthLocated within the Adult class listings, you will find these types of classes listed with a red title and a next to the title. These classes address eating for varies health issues like diabetes, heart ailments, gluten sensitivity, and more. Depending on your health insurance, you can be reimbursed for most of these classes. Check with your health care provider to see what your individual plan covers.

Drop in to the Cooking School during these times to visit and see what we have to offer. We will have some of our Chefs and Cooks on hand to offer samples of their favorite cold weather foods and if you like what you taste, take a copy of the recipes with you.

You will also have access to their vast culinary knowledge by having the opportunity to ask any cooking questions.

Invite a friend or two who hasn’t had the pleasure of attending a class at The Cooking School and give them the chance to experience us first hand.

we are looking forward to seeing you there!

February Break Cooking Camp Days

As a parent, I know this is one of the most difficult breaks for kids. They are usually stuck inside because it is too cold outside. To relieve that boredom, bring your kids to the Cooking School for one day or all 5 days to enjoy a lunch or dinner that they will make based on the theme of the day. Then, we will play some type of food game for prizes. It’s a great way to spend their winter break.

$25 per day, per child$40 for 2 days for 1 child or 2 children for 1 day$55 for 3 days for 1 child or 3 children for 1 day$70 for 4 days for 1 child or 4 children for 1 day$85 for 5 days for 1 child or 5 children for 1 day
