ANNUAL POND HOCKEY CLASSIC RETURNS TO BATAWA

Now on it’s eighth year, the Trenton Pond Hockey Classic will be held February 1-3

From February 1-3, Batawa will once again play host to the 8th Annual CFB Trenton Pond Hockey Classic. The Batawa Lions Community Rinks will be filled with high flying pond hockey action, as the tournament raises funds for Wounded Warriors Canada and the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.

It may have been a cold day outside, but the big heart of Batawa’s small hill warmed the hearts of many as they hosted the first Give Back Saturday on January 19th, raising funds for the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Throughout the day, Batawa Ski Hill was donating $5 from every lift ticket sold to the local Hospital Foundation – helping the skiers and snowboarders at Batawa Ski Hill give back to an excellent local cause. The day also showcased the return of the Batawa Chili Cook Off that happened inside the Chalet that showcased delicious concoctions from the Quinte West Fire Department Station #5, the Batawa Lions Club and Batawa Ski Hill’s very own Chef Nicholas Loshak.

Skiers and snowboarders throughout the day were also treated to the opportunity to try out a variety of new skis and snowboards with demos from Elan Skis and Salomon Snowboards. Riders also rushed to the Guest Services desk to get their ballots for the chance to win a pair of limited edition 70th Anniversary Elan Skis, with the draw being held on January 30th.

Fun was had by all at the Hill as everyone enjoyed a day on the slopes and helped give back to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Stay tuned Batawa Ski Hill social media channels for an official announcement on the amount raised from the day and for the winners of the Chili Cook Off.
