Cliff said that the Chapter renewal is done. He also had a bill for our Christmas Dinner gifts. Will made a motion to pay the bills for the gifts andchapter renewal – seconded by Dyle – motion passed.

Cathie also said that she had a bill for$29.51, from Don for some engraving he had done. Raymond had also purchased some bathroom plumbing repairs for $37.64 which Cathie had reimbursed him for.

Next, Cliff said that we have our Young Eagle credits that will expire at the end of 2019. For the last several years, we have used these credits to help send our Young Eagle cadets to theAdvanced Air Academy. But since we did not receive any applications to this year's academy, we need to find other ways to use them before they expire. Cliff read a list of other possible uses including; hands on activities during Young Eagle Rallies, promotion of YoungEagle Rallies, banners, posters, promotional materials, handouts, operational and safety items, certificates and photos of Young Eagles. Will wondered why we couldn't have a Young Eagle's Rally somewhere, perhaps Cameron? (Note: The Chillicothe Airport is scheduled to be closed several months this summer due to a major construction project.) Dyle

also suggested we could still have a drive-in breakfast even if we do not have our regular flyin breakfast? Cliff went on to say that the Young Eagle credits can not be used for the compensation of individuals, for subsidizing the purchase of fuel, construction projects, flight instructionor any other activities that are not directly used for the promotion of the Young Eagles program. Cliff said that we could also turn them back into the Advanced Air Academy's General Scholarship Fund. If we choose this option then Scott Cameron could use them, at his discretion, and they will begiven to someone who might not have the money to attend the Academy. Donna W. said, that's what we have done in the past before we started sending our own youth to the academy. Cathie mentioned that our own chapter had received some assistance from thisgeneral scholarship fund in the past. Cliff said that we need to decide what to do with our Young Eagle credits in the near future.

Donna W. mentioned that for the pilots who fly Young Eagles, your Child Protection Certificates will be coming due and you will need to update them (Note: I have placed a link to the Child Protection Certificate website on our web page, https://eaa944.org). You will receive an email from EAA letting you

know that you need to renew you certificate for another three years. Once you receive a copy of your certificate, print out two copies, one for your own records and give the second copy to Will Grady. Chapter 944 needs to have a copy for our own records.

Dyle mentioned that the Trenton airport will also be closed sometime thissummer, to replace a taxiway. The exact date is not known yet.

Cliff said the EAA now has it's own “Flight Test Manual” that has been approved by the FAA. Additional information may be found at the following link: EAA Flight Test Manual. This is a unique system for when the home builder is ready to test fly their airplane.

Cliff said that EAA along with 33 other aviation organizations, signed andsent a letter to the Federal Government expressing their concern about the impact the shut down is having on aviation.

Next, Cliff said that he has found some interesting aviation stories at http://inspire.eaa.org/

Cathie said that we had received a notice from the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce, that our dues was due. She

wanted to know if we were going to pay the $115 and renew our membership. After some discussion, a motion was made by Will and seconded by Bobby tonot renew our membership for 2019. Motion passed.

Cathie said that the chapter has setupa new EAA 944 memorial fund saving account. She also said that we have received a refund check for $600. Thiswas a refund of our Advanced Air Academy reservation deposit.

Cathie passed out a form with everyones name, address and phone numbers on it. She asked that anyone willing, to please put your birth date on it also. She also said that there are several who have not paid their 2019 dues and to please pay then as soon as possible. The dues are $36 a year (pro rated at $3 per month).

Cathie showed the plaque that we are presenting to Gaylen Potter for his dedicated service to the chapter, for many years.

Dyle and Donna talked about their tripthey took through Kennedy Space Center, NASA in Florida. They said that they were given a really good tour.

Next, Don reminded members that they need to make sure they have

signed the specialty license plate sign-up sheet.

He said that he has a list of all EAA chapters in Missouri (20) along with their address, meeting time and dates, contact person and other chapter information. He also has a Missouri state map showing the chapter locations.

Don said that he has composed a letter that he would like to send to all the individuals who have signed our specialty license plate sheet. The letterwill be used to keep them up-to-date onour progress with our specialty plate application. After some discussion, it was decided to email the letter instead of using USPS. He also has a letter to send to the three Missouri State Representatives who co-signed our application. It will also keep them informed of our progress.

After a short break, Don gave a presentation on our Chapter's web site,https://eaa944.org. Don said that he would like to hear any suggestion that anyone might have to improve our web page.

Next, Don took the members a tour ofour web page. He showed them how he can check the statistics of our web siteand tell how many visitors we have had and what pages they were viewing.

He then showed the members how he adds new information to the site by adding a story that Will Grady had written about his new airplane. He also added some pictures that Will had provided.

Next, Don briefly gave a demonstration of an Android apps that is available. The apps is called Flightradar24. It is an interesting program that show all aircraft that is inthe air, and that are ADS-B equipped. The apps can be downloaded from Google Play or other sites that have Android apps. He also mentioned that his anti-virus blocks the weather link onthis web site. You might want to use caution about clicking on the weather button.

Next, Cliff said that Will Grady has agreed to be Chapter 944's Young Eagles Coordinator.

There was a motion to adjourn at 4:15 – motion passed.

Safe flying!

Don Bryan
