January 2013
Out with the Old, In with the New A new year gives us an opportunity to renew ourselves before God. It is a time to forget the past and return to the simple yet profound disciplines of the Chris-tian life. II Corinthians 3:18 reads, But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. Adrain Rogers said in ref-erence to this verse, When the child of God loves the Word of God and sees the Son of God, he is changed by the Spirit of God into the image of God for the glory of God because he has found the truth of God. Let me encourage you to focus on spiritual growth in your personal life this year. Set aside appropriate time for daily Bible study and prayer. Do something outside your comfort zone such as talking to one person a month with the sole purpose of leading them to faith in Christ. Consider going on our mission trip, be active in weekly worship, and faithfully attend a Sunday School class. De-velop a deeper relationship with your church family. Lets pray for the Lord to bless our outreach efforts and that our baptistery is used more than half the Sun-days we gather for worship this year. Wouldnt that be exciting? Most certainly, yet it will take each one making an attempt to lead a someone to Jesus. A Family Fellowship Night is planned for Sunday evening January 20th. Our Baptist Mens Day is scheduled for January 27th. Let me encourage you to con-tinue praying for our Music Minister Search Team. We have interviewed two individuals. The Lord has opened a different door for one and we are continuing the process on the other. Prayer will help us as we seek the will of God for this place of service.
Blessings,
Bro. Brad

Happy New Year!
As we head into 2013, many will be setting personal goals or New Years Resolutions for themselves. Year after year, among the top ranked most popular res-olutions are ambitions to get fit, to lose weight, to eat healthier and to exercise more. Those are certainly good goals to have and our church is so blessed to have a fa-cility like our Family Life Center to help us achieve those fitness goals.
I wanted to make you aware of some opportunities com-ing up very soon to give you more opportunities to get in shape and to have fun and fellowship with others as you do it! First, starting on Tuesday, January 8th, we will be starting back Aerobic Classes in the FLC. The classes will be offered every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6pm to 7pm. Kori Thomas, who is a li-censed fitness instructor, will be leading these classes. The cost is $5 per session. Secondly, our Winter Church Volleyball League will be starting on Mon-day, January 14th. This league is a always a lot of fun and a great way to connect with our brothers and sisters from other churches in our community. Games will be played every Monday night at 7pm & 8pm through the end of March. You can sign up for these fitness oppor-tunities at the Sunday School desk in the church foyer.
As you consider your goals for 2013, I would like to en-courage you with this passage from 1 Timothy 4:7b-8.
Train yourself for godliness; for while bodily train-ing is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
Lets make 2013 a year not only to get in better shape physically, but spiritually, as well! Adopt a Bible Read-ing Plan, start a Weekly Family Devotion time, and lets be faithful in attending Worship, Sunday School, & Bi-ble Study. Make Gods Word a part of each day and just watch the difference it can make in your life!
Blessings,
Bro. Kyle
