Free and Reduced Lunch Information

Bethel School District partici-pates in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs sponsored by the USDA. Breakfast and lunch are available to qualifying students at no cost or a reduced price.

Families interested in partici-pating in the free and reduced meal program should obtain an application form the school or the Child Nutrition office, fill out the application , and return it to the school cafeteria or the Child Nutrition office for processing . Parents will be notifies by the district when the application has been proc-essed.

Preschool for young children ages 3-5

The school district offers ECEAP or Head Start for children ages 3-4 years ready for kindergarten. Families must qualify under the Federal Poverty guidelines for either of these programs. For further information and an application call or stop by one of these locations:

If your student is out more than three days you should request your student’s homework through the office. Please pro-vide 24-hours notice in order for the teach-ers and staff enough time to complete your request. Volunteer

Do you want to volunteer? It’s a GREAT opportunity to help your child’s school and increase your ability to speak

English. The only thing you need to do is fill out a volunteer application at your child’s school or the district office

and show a valid form of I.D.. Once approved it’s valid for two years. You can then participate in any classroom

parties, field trips, parent teacher association (PTA) functions, etc.

Family access helps you check your student’s progress, atten-dance, and tardiness. All you need to do is go to the main of-fice of your child’s Jr. High or High School with your identifi-cation and request your login and individual password.

Online Learning Opportunities

BELA

Bethel Elementary Learning Academy (BELA) is a K-6 parent

partnership program. This alternative learning experience of-

fers a blend of on and off-site instruction with certification

teacher support, online courses, and traditional curriculum to

meet the unique and individual needs of students. The school

district is ultimately responsible for student learning. For more

Online Learning Opportunities

BOA

The Bethel Online Academy (BOA) is an online learning envi-ronment for student in grades 7-12; it makes use of curriculum created by instructors and various other courses offered by Plato and Advanced Academics. The program falls under the umbrella of Alternative Education. Students do their work pri-marily on the internet and maintain contact with adviser sup-port. Unlike state-wide programs, each student in Bethel Online has an adviser to act as their education advocate and primary contact. Students can speak with their adviser by phone, email, or in person. each student’s ability to speak, write, listen, and read English. The district

currently has three elementary schools (Evergreen, Frederickson, and Rocky
