The growing internal security challenges in the Middle East have raised demand among the region’s

authorities and security agencies for innovative products to improve Homeland Security. Governments,

law enforcement agencies and private companies allocate more budgets to security products to increase

security of their home countries against terrorists, natural disasters and piracy. To reflect the continued

growth of the Homeland Security sector in the region, Intersec puts more emphasis on its Homeland

Security & Policing section in 2013.

• The UAE’s spending for Homeland Security products is set to double from USD 5.5 billion to USD 10 billion in the next ten years

• The global market for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives detection equipment was valued at USD 925 million in 2011
