FREE FOOD DISTRIBUTION VIA THE WEINBERG FOOD BANK This free food distribution for those in need is for RESIDENTS OF SUSQUEHANNA COUNT ONLY. Distribution will be held THIS Tuesday, January 15th, from 11AM to 1PM and 5PM to 7PM, at the Little Meadows United Methodist Church, 843 Penn. Ave. (Route 858), Little Meadows, Pa. SHEETS & BLANKETS NEEDED Old/used sheets and blankets are needed to make sleeping bags for the homeless. If you are cleaning out your closet, please consider donating them for this worthy cause. Donations can be left in the back of the Churches or dropped off at the Rectory, (if no one is there, please leave donations on the porch by the driveway). All donations are most welcome.

MARCH FOR LIFE BUS TRIP A bus trip to the Annual March for Life in Washington, DC has been planned for Friday, January 25th. (This year marks the 40th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade.) The bus will leave from Holy Name of Mary in Montrose at 5:30AM and return at approximately 11:00PM. The cost is $ 30.00 for adults and $ 25.00 for students. Those attending should bring a bag lunch. The bus will stop on the way home for dinner. Seats are limited. If you would like to attend the March for Life, please call Rosalynd Perlick-Spencer at 663-2212 as soon as possible.

RETROUVAILLE HELP FOR HURTING MARRIAGES—Retrouvaille, pronounced, “re-tro-vi”, is a French word meaning, “to find one’s way again” or “rediscovery”. The program consists of a weekend and follow-up presentations which help couples put the pieces back together and rebuild loving relationships. The next program in the Scranton Diocese begins February 15-17, 2013 at Fatima Renewal Center in Dalton. THOUGHTS FROM THE SCRANTON DIOCESAN COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN The Scranton Diocesan Council of Catholic Women would like to remind the faithful that the Liturgical Season of Christmas concludes on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord on January 13th. During this season, we should celebrate the birth of Christ and reflect on the meaning of His gift of salvation. And as we begin the New Year, to turn with devotion to Mary, model of the church and to recognize the special role of Mary in the mystery of salvation. This month let us invoke Mary, the Mother of the Holy Family. The Blessed Mother has taught us that the family is the cradle of faith and prayer where we first learn to love and that family life can be enriched by living up to the teachings of Christ and His Church. Please take time to teach your children how to pray the rosary and to pray it as a family daily as a gift to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

THOMAS MORE SOCIETY The Saint Thomas More Society of the Legal Profession is sponsoring an End of Life Issues Presentation by Father Tad Pacholczyk of the National Catholic Bioethics Center at Saint Maria Goretti Church Hall, 43 Redwood Drive, Laflin, PA at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013. This meeting is open to the general public as well as the members of the Saint Thomas More Society. Father Tad Pacholczyk is a renowned authority on timely life issues. From stem Cell research to organ donation, abortion to euthanasia, he offers a clear and compelling analysis of modern bioethical questions.
