THOUGHTS FROM THE SCRANTON DIOCESAN COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN The Scranton Diocesan Council of Catholic Women would like to remind the faithful that the Liturgical Season of Christmas concludes on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord on January 13th. During this season, we should celebrate the birth of Christ and reflect on the meaning of His gift of salvation. And as we begin the New Year, to turn with devotion to Mary, model of the church and to recognize the special role of Mary in the mystery of salvation. This month let us invoke Mary, the Mother of the Holy Family. The Blessed Mother has taught us that the family is the cradle of faith and prayer where we first learn to love and that family life can be enriched by living up to the teachings of Christ and His Church. Please take time to teach your children how to pray the rosary and to pray it as a family daily as a gift to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
