• Field discovered in 1990
• First production in Feb 1999
• Over 70 million barrels production over its lifetime
• Asset reached its economic end of field life in 2015

Full removal of Janice FPU, risers, flowlines, umbilicals, control jumpers and spool
pieces.
Complete removal of James pipeline
and umbilical.
Oil, Gas and Affleck Pipelines to be
remain in situ with rock dump at ends.
Commencement of approx 400 days P&A campaign :

James – 2 Wells

Fast track programme
• Early, open and honest engagement with the regulator and stakeholders helped deliver this project.
• An integrated project team made up of Operator and Contractor personnel set up at both Company and Contractor sites.
• All contractors aligned and engaged with the project goals and company way of working.

Contracting Strategy
• As an E&P Operator Maersk Oil’s primary focus is not decommissioning
• Maersk Oil relied on its strength as a Project Integrator to optimise the supply chain in support of the delivery of the decommissioning programme and Project Activities .
• Existing frame agreements used as far as possible
• Financial stability of suppliers a focus area
