The Mayor, our Member of Parliament, the RSL representative and our School Police Liaison Officer, all commented on how moving the ceremony was. To say I am proud to work with so many fantastic students, staff and families is just not enough to reflect the pride I feel for what we are achieving as a school. The numbers are not important, but it is the respectful nature of our kids and the commitment of the staff in this school, that makes me feel so positive. Thanks to all involved in making this happen (too many names to mention).

Short-term loan of school laptops while BYOd isbeing repaired

It's great to see so many senior school students with BYOd fortheir learning. Unfortunately sometimes these devices need tobe repaired or replaced, and as some families have found out, that can take some time to happen.

To help out in these situations we've made some old schoollaptops available for short-term loan. They are out-of-warrantyand uninsured but work and will allow your student to keeplearning in class and at home whilst their device is beingrepaired. There are not many of the devices so they areavailable for a maximum of 10 school days and on a first-infirst-served basis.

Only students who have returned the BYOd Agreement andpreviously joined their laptop to the BYOd network may accessthe short-term loan devices. Further details, and the form tobring, are on the school website.

1M Stars to End Violence

Making these stars was such an awesome experience to getinvolved in. I got to spend time with people I have never metin the school yet, we sat down and had laughs while helpingsupport a great cause. After making the stars, I was asked togo to the Art Gallery for the day to put our stars up on displayfor the Open Day. It was such a great opportunity to be able towork with the staff in the gallery for the whole day and speakabout why they made their stars and what lead them to helpcreate this project in Gympie. I completed the James Nashdisplay with a smile on my face, knowing that our school hashelped to end violence. I would like to thank all the students thathelped create these beautiful stars and hope that you like mydisplay.
