It is based on 1250 rules for the guidance to prisoners, police officers,

superintendents and other people related to jail administration.

If any person (prisoner or from management) violates these rules, they

are subjected to penalties or punishment.

Jail manual is subsequently amended from time to time and adapted

by the Government of Pakistan Adaptation of Pakistan Laws Order,

1947.

Jail manual describes the rules for the superintendence and management of prisons in Pakistan.
