Introduction This Bibliography was proposed by the LSE Department of Law to honour Professor John Griffith,

who studied and worked at LSE and was Professor of English Law, 1959-70 and Professor of Public

Law, 1970 – 1984. He was Editor of the journal Public Law from its creation in 1956 until 1981.

It has been produced by the British Library of Political and Economic Science and the Department of

Law.

The Bibliography includes Professor John Griffith’s published works – books, book chapters, articles,

case and statute notes, reports of committees, book reviews and published letters to newspapers

from 1947 – 2003. All the works included have been authored by Professor Griffith, either alone or in

conjunction with others.

The Bibliography has not listed in full the Comments published in Public Law while Professor Griffith

was Editor. It also does not include unpublished works and personal archives held at LSE or

elsewhere.

If there are published works that have been omitted or errors, please email Maria Bell at the Library,
