What is jade?Jade is a type of mineral that comes in a variety of green, is beautiful and popular. The jade stone is made of nephrite and jadiet which are called silicate minerals. Silicate minerals are rock forming minerals.

Where does the jade come from?The jade origanilly comes from few countries which are: China, New Zealand, Russia, Guatemala, Australia and Canada but the best jade comes frome Burma now known as Mayanmar.

Interesting facts!

The higher the iron content the greener the jade becomes.

In the 19th cenuary a french man named Alixia Damour found out that the “jade“ was two different minerals.

In 1886 jade was known worthless as the countries main aim was gold.

The Maori´s used jadecalled Pounamu („greenstone“) also for weapons.
