For many, after the sun sets over themountains it is time to take in a movie, goout to dinner, or hit the bars for some cock-tails. But it turns out Jackson is a town sit-ting right at the base of a great mountainthat provides activities to keep the sportsaction going well into the night. From nightskiing to hockey games, Snow King is theplace to be for those that aren’t ready tokick back and sit by the fire.Night Skiing
If you are here to ski, why stop when the sun goes down? Wyoming’s first skiresort – Snow King Ski Area – was founded in 1939, and although not the largestski area in the West, boasts some of the steepest terrain per acre in North America. The “town hill,” as locals call it, keeps its lights on into the evening for skiers andsnowboarders looking to cruise the wide open groomers, slither through the tighttrees, or show off tricks on the jumps and rails in the terrain park. Of course the liftsrun all day, but starting at 4 p.m. you can ski until they kick you off the mountain forjust $25.
Snow King winter havenFrom tubing to hockey, the fun sparkles on the town hill.

No problem, tubing on the town hill is a relaxing andeasy way to slide down the mountain and enjoy crispmountain air. The more people you go with, the merrier. The friendly staff at the tube park hooks you up to thetowrope that will pull you up to the top of the track. After helping you unload at the top, they have creativeways to get groups hooked up together. The last ques-tion before they shove you off is: Would you like a spin? And away you go. Take as many laps as you like, thetube park charges by the hour.
Tube Park Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 2:30 – 6:30 p.m.Saturday and Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.Jackson Hole Moose Hockey

BY ABBIE MILLER
Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean wehave to abandon our style sensibilities. After a long day of trudging in the snow ittakes fortitude to go the extra mile for asassy look, but it doesn’t have to be asarduous as you think. How does one feeland look sexy when it’s twenty below? The answer is to have some key staplesin your wardrobe that are as warm andeasy as putting on that Patagonia orfavorite beanie. And a set of deep red lipsnever hurt to amp your day to night style.
This season I have spotted Jacksonwomen wearing the reinvented sweater
tunic. This new style of dress offers a chiccounterbalance to the clunky and all tooandrogynous cable knit sweater. Look forflat wool and soft knit options that aren’ttoo bulky and cleverly show off one ofyour favorite assets. For instance, atQueenie and Co. I found a black woolembellished sweater dress that had aplunging v-back to draw the eye. Or go fora knit mini skirt with a sleek top and layerwith boots and chunky jewelry.
I spotted local graphic designer JennyFrancis sporting a similar attitude, rock-ing an off-the-shoulder, chestnut-coloredknit dress. Reminiscent of a 1950sMarilyn Monroe silhouette, Francis’ look

was ultra feminine and sexy without thefuss and crisp of its predecessors’make. She chose menswear-inspired, tan lace-up boots, pairedwith scrunched, over the knee-socks, but this form fitting skinwarmer could easily be dressedup from day to night with somechandelier earrings and a pairof heels.
Layering remains our key tostyle survival in winter wonder-land both in the protection andtexture it adds to our outfits. Ihave noticed a multitude oflocal women wearing slouchycloche-style hats and flowy femi-nine dresses with long grandpa-cardigans over the top. Oftenthe cardigan is just longer thanthe dress coyly hinting at, “Istole this from my boyfriend’scloset, and it looks better onme.” The over-all effect is adeconstructed boudoir, verysexy a’ la Jean Seberg from“Breathless.”
Finally it’s all about theaccessories, and no yourbeanie shouldn’t count.Think about getting a newhair color or cut that addsgeometry and bold defini-tion to your look, asopposed to settling for24/7 hat head. If you’rejust too cold, this year Ihave seen a variety ofinteresting indoor/out-door fashion hats thatare retro, classy and dif-ferent than the standardski hat. The beret is an option butone of my new favorites is a geometric knitturban by Electronic Sheep, it’s “GreyGardens” meets Resi Stiegler and ultra coolfor day or night. NLG
