Beanstalk

Once upon a timethere was a little

boy called Jack wholived in a little

cottage with hismother.

They were very poor

and very hungry.

One day, Jacks

mother sent him outto sell the family cow.

The cow was very old

and she was going tobe very difficult to

sell!

Jack and the cowwalked for miles and

miles but no onewanted to buy the

cow.

While Jack waswalking back home an

old woman said shewould buy the cow forfive beans.

The old woman saidthe beans had magic

powers

Jack thought thebeans would be

better than nothingso he agreed to hand

over the cow.But, when he got

home, Jacks motherwas not happy!

She sent Jackstraight to bed and

threw the five beansout of the window.

The beanstalk went

up and up and up intothe sky!

The next morning,

when Jack woke up,he could not believe

his eyes!

A huge beanstalkhad grown overnight.

Jack decided to

climb up it to seewhere it went.

When Jack reached

the top of thebeanstalk he couldhear a loud noise!

He walked up to thedoor of a huge castle.

The noise was gettingmuch louder and Jackcould see the biggest

lady he had ever seen!

The lady was a giants

wife.Jack crept into the

castle.

Now he could seewhere the noise was

coming from!

A huge giant wasstomping around thecastle shouting

FEE, FI, FO,

FUM! Watch outeveryone HEREI COME!

Jack crept out of the

castle, and back downthe beanstalk,carrying the giants

gold.

Jack tiptoedcarefully across the

table and collectedthe giants gold.

He could hear thegiants stomping and

again he heard thegiant shout

Jack knew the gianthad many more

treasures.

He climbed back upthe beanstalk to see

what else he couldfind.

Jack sneaked

through the doorand hid silently.

The giant sat down atthe table to eat.

FEE, FI, FO,FUM! Watch outeveryone HERE

I COME!

When he finished

eating he asked hiswife to bring him hismagic hen.

Quietly, Jack ranout of the castle and

down the beanstalkwith the hen underhis arm.

The hen could laygolden eggs!

Jack could not

believe his eyes!As soon as the giant

was asleep againJack crept up and

took the magic hen!

As he tiptoed intothe castle Jack couldhear a familiar sound!

Jack and his mothernow had enough

money and were nothungry any more.

But, after a whilehad past, Jack

decided to visit thegiant's castle one

more time.

FEE, FI, FO,

After hismeal the

giant askedhis wife tobring him

his magicharp.

The giant seemedangrier than ever!

He sat down for hissupper while Jackwatched from his

hiding place.

The harp could sing

beautiful songs. Jackthought it waswonderful.

As soon as the giantwas asleep, Jack

grabbed the harpand ran out of the

castle.

But the harp wasfrightened and

started singing again. FEE, FI, FO,


Soon the giant wasawake and chasing

after Jack!

Jack rushed down

the beanstalk andran to the cottageget an axe.

He chopped and hechopped and he

chopped.

Eventually, the

beanstalk camecrashing down to the

ground.

The giants body lay

silently on theground.

Jack ran to his

mother.

His beanstalk

adventures were overand Jack and hismother could live

happily ever after in

their little cottage.
