The tester is the first brand-neutral diagnostics tool to provide mechanics with error code-based repair solutions in real time on the screen. Repair Plus makes it all possible:Once the mechanic has unambiguously identified the vehicle viaVIN code and read out the error code, the system automaticallysearches a huge comparison database for the most plausibleand frequent causes for the respective vehicle. The most probable sources of error are displayed on the screen, together with detailed repair instructions and practical tips. HUSKY helps in the time-intensive search for leaks in refrigerantcircuits. The automatic filling system that is built into eachHUSKY for the UV contrast medium automatically selects thecorrect fill quantity for the selected refrigerant quantity andthere is nothing in the way if a visual leak detection is necessary.However, the use of a forming gas is significantly more effective.

Many HUSKY instruments are equipped with a connection forforming gas/nitrogen and provide an automatic pressure test.High-precision pressure sensors indicate each pressure drop.In combination with an electronic forming gas leak detectioninstrument, this is a simple and effective method for trackingdown and eliminating even very small leaks in a very shortamount of time.

Simple maintenance HUSKY instruments are designed so that filter changes, vacuumpump services, and the inspection of scales can be performedby the mechanic himself. Can be modified easily

Since January 1, 2011, only refrigerant with a GWP value of less than 150 can still beused in new type-tested vehicles (class M1). Starting in 2017, this regulation will applyto all vehicles approved for use in Europe.

All of the HUSKY series air-conditioning service instruments for R134a can be equippedat the factory, if requested, with a retrofit kit for R1234yf instruments. This allows garages to be best prepared for future requirements on air-conditioning service equipment.

The high costs of the refrigerant R1234yf mean its purity is an important economicfactor. HUSKY can be equipped with an integrated or retrofit refrigerant analysis modulethat can perform a reliable refrigerant analysis before each service process. Crosscontamination with unknown refrigerants and subsequent added costs can thus beruled out in advance. After the analysis, the status of the refrigerant is shown in thedisplay. The air-conditioning service is started only if the purity is at least 99.5%.

This device supports the rinsing process (refrigerant R134a) with the Hella NussbaumSolutions air conditioning service devices. This device ensures that theliquid refrigerant flows through all of the parts of the air conditioning system that needto be rinsed. The transparent containers help the user to recognise when the liquidrefrigerant flows back out of the system without any soiling, which means the flushingprocess can be stopped.

LEAK DETECTION

UV Leak detection system

With each press, the Pro Shot injection system injects a precisely defined amount ofcontrast agent (3.7 ml) into the air conditioning system. This precise injection volumeprevents too much contrast agent entering the air conditioning system. There is no needto take readings from a scale, which can prove difficult. The device allows contrastagent to be injected up to a system pressure of 13 bar, which also enables the fillingof air conditioning systems filled with coolant. The battery-operated LED UV lamp has a high-power LED that has a lifetime of up to 80,000 hours depending on its use.

SEARCH FOR LEAKS WITH FORMING GAS

New legal regulations no longer allow leaky air-conditioning plants to be filled withrefrigerant. Therefore, more efficient searches for leaks requires a different medium.Forming gas 95/5 consisting of 95% nitrogen and 5% hydrogen is especially suited for the purpose. Forming gas 95/5 is not detrimental to the environment, not combustible and not toxic. After the air-conditioning system has been filled, the special leakage searcher is used to find leaks. As hydrogen atoms are the smallest particles occurring in nature, they will exit even at the smallest leaks. Another difference compared to the R134a refrigerant is that hydrogen is lighter than air and therefore all components and connections can be checked from above.

Leaky evaporators can be detected by means of measurements at the air exit nozzlesin the centre console. Laborious measurements at the condensation water drain or thefoot air outlets are not necessary. After searching for leaks, the forming gas can simplybe released to the atmosphere.

The leak detector for forming gas reacts to hydrogen immediately. Since pure hydrogenis not present in the engine compartment, there is no cross-sensitivity. This makesleakage detection very reliable.

CLEANING OF AIRCONDITIONING SYSTEMS

An air-conditioning system can be technically in order and yetstill cause problems. The design of compact evaporators usedtoday makes them an ideal nesting place and breeding groundfor bacteria, fungi and other micro-organisms that then get intothe vehicle interior through the ventilation system.

This can cause allergic reactions among the passengers such ase. g. sneezing, coughing and watery eyes. In addition, a musty oreven mouldy smell can spread throughout the interior.

RECYCLE GUARD

The Recycle Guard removes dirt particles, lubricating, contrast and sealing agents aswell as other contamination from the refrigerant during the suction process before itgets into the air-conditioning service station. This prevents damage such as cloggingand sticking at the air-conditioning service station.

The Recycle Guard can be used with refrigerant both in liquid and in gaseous condition.Optimal results can be achieved if the refrigerant is extracted in gaseous condition.

It is, therefore, recommended to connect the Recycle Guard to the vehicle‘s connectionsthat contain the refrigerant in gaseous condition.

SEG V

HELLA used the SEG IV model series as the basis for developing a new, electronicbeam setter – the SEG V.

This SEG (German abbreviation for “beam setter”) includes a camera that films thecorresponding light distribution of the headlight to be tested and makes an evaluationpossible in real time on a large, 7” TFT monitor. This monitor is mounted in the directionof the vehicle and lets the mechanic easily adjust the headlight with a view of the lightdistribution.

Thanks to the intuitive menu navigation, headlights can be adjusted quickly andeasily. The integrated WiFi interface transmits test results to your PC, so that resultscan be printed out and documented. This documentation can be used to convincecustomers that their headlights are not correctly set or are even defective.

This interface also has benefits for smartphone or tablet PC owners, because it is possible to transmit the real-time display to these devices.

SEG IV-DLX

The beam setter has a laser positioning aid that makes it possible to precisely alignthe beam setter box with the headlight. Bulbs, particularly in free-form headlights,can thus be sighted directly. Unevenness of the ground is easily compensated usingthe spirit level and the eccentric axis. The digital luxmeter allows the inspection ofthe light values for the low beam and the maximum illuminance of the high beam.

Adjustments can be made even more easily and comfortably through the use offeatures that will be described shortly, such as a wide-band sight with integratedcrosshairs, the reinforcement for the sight guidance, a rubber handle, and lossprotection for the beam setter box button.

The Economy D SEG was developed as a basic tool for garages. According to up-to-date statistics, failure of the electric system(batteries, starters, generators) is still the primary cause ofbreakdowns.

Additional pressure on the battery caused by the numerouselectronic systems in the modern day vehicle (such as navigationand audio systems) are becoming even greater. AUXILIARY POWER SUPPLY
