As you know, there has only been one meeting of the Taskforce and this zoning request was not discussed at the meeting. I am dismayed that seven members would take it upon themselves to form a majority opinion on the issue without the benefit of a meeting and issue a letter representing it as the opinion of the Taskforce, without even copying the other Taskforce members. I want to go on record as being fully supportive of the zoning request for the sky bridge. The owners of Preston Center Pavilion have property rights under the existing zoning and they have substantial rights to the parking in the Preston Center Garage. It is not fair to ask them to wait for a master plan of potential uses to fully utilize their existing property. Plans for Preston Center have been discussed for over twenty years without being implemented and there is no guarantee that this one will move forward in a reasonable time frame. Furthermore, they will not be able to build the sky bridge without the concurrence of the Parking Corporation even if zoning is granted. This should not be a zoning issue. It is a business issue among the property owners who control the parking garage. Since I am traveling and do not have access to my files, would you please forward this email to all members of the Taskforce for me. Thank you. Pete Kline
