All GFWC clubs were elegible to nominate a candidate for the state awards. The competition was open to all women who are actively engaged in any form of volunteer service on a national. state or local level, New Mexico's club nominations were judged by a panel of judges who selected an teenage volunteer from their state. She has earned trips to Hawaii, Chicago and Mexico and visits to Texas, California and Oklahoma schools. She recently placed 4th in the New Mexico Office Education Association regional contest.
