Royal Bros. All OkayReports from Royal Bros. Circus, in Canada, indicate the show

OHIO REPORTHOXIE'S GREAT AMERICAN CIRCUS -Parklayne, Ohio - July 9th.

The midway really looks greatwith the freshly painted and welllettered trucks. It is no doubtthe most colorful show on theroad today.

The main feature of the SideShow is "Kongo" the biggest apeto be seen anywhere. The top wasreally wild, with yellow, blueand white striped canvas on oneend, and red, white and blue onthe other end. Also forming themidway is a Himalayan Monster PitShow, concessions, a ticket wagonand elephant rides.

The big show was well review-ed in CR on June 28 by Billy Bar-ton. Here the biggest flaw wasthe sound system, which made itdifficult to understand CharlesMoyer's announcements. He alsodirects the three piece band -trumpet, drums and organ.

Dime Wilson, Jr. has the kidsroaring with his ladder routine, especially when he falls down andends back up on his feet. Buck NoIan and Giovanni Zoppe are alsoin Clown Alley.

The Alberto Zoppe lion act isa good one, as is their RidingSchool number. Billy Gunga's 3 yrold twins really steal the aud-ience's heart and great crowdpleasers. The feature act is theKneisley Duo's cradle number, presented by Donna Wilson andBill Bannister.

Funny Thing Happened On TheTo California: The June 7th col-umn got lost, compelling me torewrite it - quickly - from mem-ory; consequently I mixed up theyears DENNIS STEVENS spent on Po-lack, Ringling and Beatty. Letterfrom Dennis goes thusly: 12-Po-lack; 15-Ringling; 6-Beatty.

The trials arid tribulationsof BILLY RODGERS - started with

the assault and robbery of lastwinter - continued into and dur-ing his current run at SterlingForest. Some 80 miles out of Tam-pa the truck motor blew up, whichwas only the beginning of a ser-ies of breakdowns on his treknorth. Arriving at his Ohio home,Billy found the house on fire, with firemen scurrying about andfurniture strewn hither and yon.His mother, who had just returnedfrom the hospiatl was unharmed, but suffering from shock - as wasBilly, when he discovered his en-tire circus collection had beenruined by smoke and water.

Cold weather at Sterling For-est caused the loss of his prin-ipal Macaw due to pneumonia. Ontop of that an assistant drankpoison (accidentally) and almostdied, and Billy drove his car in-to a tree. SO...if you think youhave problems, reread this!

Billy has 17 macaws, 9 cock-atoos, 8 conures, 9 doves and 40pigeons, watched over by a neur-otic dog and cat.
