ALOHA!You’re stepping into our second edition of
It’s a Good Day… a semi-annual magazine
that highlights our pre-order and catering
offerings. We’ve curated an array of menu
spread ideas and behind-the-scenes
stories to give you an inside look at
what we do. We might be your go-to for
SLURPEE®, BIG BITE®, or our famous
SPAM® musubi, but did you know we
also offer large sweet and savory platters,
ready-to-go bulk orders, and now, quick
and easy meal kits?
As our routines have slowed and events
halted, daily life can seem monotonous
at times. This issue’s theme, “To delight
in the new and familiar,” reminds us that
we can continue to find moments of joy
in daily activities, big or small. Whether
you’re planning a virtual dinner date or a
small picnic with family, you can always
count on us.
We’re also excited to announce that we
now offer faster and more convenient
ordering options for the items within
this magazine. Pre-order online and
pick up at your neighborhood 7-Eleven.

Cooking a wholesome meal for your loved
ones can be one of the most rewarding
responsibilities. But sometimes, there’s just
not enough time in the day to prepare a
complete meal. 7-Eleven Hawai‘i has added
a new category to its catering menu – Meal
Kits. These kits are designed to eliminate
the preparation. All that needs to be done is
open the individual packages, combine and
reheat. It’s just that simple.
There are two meal kits to choose from.
The f irst is a local favorite, kalua pork
and cabbage. The kalua pork is cooked
in a smoky flavored glaze that will marry
perfectly with a hot bowl of white rice.
The cabbage is a bit crunchy to retain its
texture during the reheating process.
The second meal kit is a chicken alfredo.
Like the Ohana Chicken Alfredo, but with
broccoli added to it for a more substantial
option. The spaghetti is cooked al dente,
and the sauce is a blend of creamy alfredo,
diced chicken and mushrooms.
These comforting dishes can be the sole
item on your menu. They can also be an
accompaniment to something that you
have prepared. These new meal kits save
you time. And while it’s simple to dish up,
it still feels like you made it!
There are several ways to preorder your
meal kits. You can call your neighborhood
7-Eleven Hawai‘i store or order in-person. You
can also visit vroomdelivery.com/711hawaii
for delivery and in-store pickup options in
your area.

NEW COMMISSARY andDISTRIBUTION FACILITY
14
By Annika Streng
From sandwiches and salads to bento
and musubi, we’re dedicated to serving
an assortment of new and familiar
flavors, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
We don’t just do it on our own, though!
With the help of our commissary partner,
Warabeya USA and central distribution
partner, Mitsui Bussan Logistics Inc.
(MBLI), we’ve been working together
for over three decades to bring fresh,
never frozen food to your nearest
neighborhood store.
This year is a big one for our partners.
Their operations are now centered at a
new Waipahu facility. The reason why
Warabeya and MBLI share the same
property is not only to achieve efficiency,
but most importantly to preserve food
safety. One thing that hasn’t changed
with the move is the quality control, to
ensure that all food is kept fresh at all
stages of the production and distribution
process. While this remains constant, the
move helps us continue our commitment
to you – to provide innovation, quality
and convenience – while expanding our
service to more neighborhoods throughout
the state.
The new Warabeya commissary can
support up to 100 stores, nearly
double the service capacity of its
former location. This also means even
more food options will be popping
up in our stores – keep on the lookout!
Along with larger capacity for production
and innovation, the USDA-certif ied
commissary has upgraded equipment
and a dedicated test kitchen for
research and development.
For MBLI, the new space allows for
improved inventory systems. Most
of the products that are received are
delivered to our stores on the same
day, meaning you can get the items
you seek and crave, faster!
Want to be the f irst to try our food
innovations? Head to our hot and
cold cases on Tuesdays to f ind our
latest products. You may discover
something new or even f ind the return
of a past favorite!

SPAM® is a must-have in Hawai‘i’s pantries. It’s a prized can of deliciousness which
many claim there’s no alternative. We believe that a SPAM® Musubi is just not the
same if a substitute “luncheon meat” is used. And while SPAM® is a commonly used
ingredient here in the islands, there are some things you may not know about it. Here
are some fun facts about this local favorite.
From 7-ELEVEN HAWAI‘I- We introduced our version of the SPAM® Musubi in 1993.
- Every day, 1,500 cans are manually opened by 3 individuals in a span of 3 hours.
- All empty SPAM® cans are sent out for recycling.
- 15 people are dedicated to meeting our SPAM® Musubi demand, for 6 hours each day - from opening the SPAM® cans to cooking the SPAM® and rice, to assembling the musubi!
- Total amount of rice needed to make SPAM® Musubi equates to 2,000 pounds daily.
- One of our most memorable SPAM® items would have to be for Valentine’s Day 2014: a Heart-Shaped SPAM® Musubi.
*Source: spam.com/what-is-spam-brand
From HORMEL*- There are 12.8 cans of SPAM®
products eaten every second.
- It would take 415,549,599 SPAM® cans to circle the circumference of the Earth.
- SPAM® products are sold in 44 different countries.
- Hawai‘i eats seven million cans of SPAM® products every year.
- In Southeast Asia, SPAM® products are given as a luxury gift.
