• UFTAA started its operation as aConfederation on January 1st, 2003.

• In 1989, coming from Brussels, UFTAA setup its General Secretariat in thePrincipality of Monaco.

FUNCTIONS

• To unite and consolidate the Federations ofTravel Agents’ National Associations and toglobally enhance the interests of theirmembers

• To represent the travel agents’ activitiesbefore various world-wide bodies,governmental authorities and suppliers

• To work towards the adoption of measuresthat will ease travel for the consumer andto offer services to its member federations

• Investigation and information Centre• To offer, as a voluntary mechanism, anarbitration service which assists insolving conflicts resulting fromcommercial relations for which amicablesettlement cannot be reached

• To organize a world congress of travelagents and other meetings necessary tothe exchange and transmission ofknowledge.
