Grandparents Day of Prayer

In these days of desperation and confusion, hopelessness and helplessness, when mountains are collapsing, nations are warring, people are rioting, the earth is quaking, and the enemy is threatening, it’s time to cry out to the Lord! Now!

Anne Graham Lotz,Facebook, May 7, 2015

United prayer bridges the gap between a great need and a great awakening!

Christian Grandparent Network urges churches and other Christian organizations to designate National Grandparents Day, the second Sunday of September, as a day of prayer. There are countless ways to observe Grandparents Day of Prayer. Prayer is key.

Grandparents at Prayer (G@P)

G@P groups provide a safe environment for two or more grandparents to gather together and pray for their grandchildren. Most groups schedule their meetings weekly, bi-monthly or monthly. Meetings last approximately one hour.

“I love the sweet fellowship, support, and friendships of my Grandparents at Prayer Group. I feel safe to share my heavy heart of my concerns for my grandchildren and their parents, knowing others will be praying for them. It is wonderful to see how God is answering our prayers in the lives of our families as we pray for them.”

Carol Glad, OR

“My husband and I have 8 grandchildren who are scattered over three countries. A few days before G@P meets, I text all each grandchild separately and ask if there is anything they want me to pray for them. I also pray for their parents. Touching base personally with each grandchild has helped me become more a part of their life and fostered a very special relationship that I would otherwise not have. God has worked through these contacts and prayers to enrich all our lives, but most especially mine.”

Thousands of years ago, Queen Esther stood in the gap for her people when their physical lives were threatened. Today, God is mobilizing an army of grandparents to stand in the gap for their grandchildren through prayer.

Christian Grandparenting Network is committed to encouraging, empowering and equipping grandparents to pray regularly for their children and grandchildren, both privately and corporately.

You can participate by praying: Daily (in the privacy of your own

home). Weekly or monthly (by joining a G@P

group). Annually (by celebrating

Grandparents Day of Prayer).

DAILY PRAYER:First of all, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all people (I Timothy 2:1).

The greatest responsibility of Christian grandparents is to pray DAILY for our children and grandchildren.
