Over the last 25 years we have built an enviable reputation for not only creating beautiful, hand crafted kitchens here in the UK but by offering the kind of customer service that others can only aspire to.
The collection you are looking at here is…
All our kitchens are constructed using traditional materials and methods with an obsessive attention to detail. We are confident that you will not find comparable kitchen’s built quite like this.
That’s because our way, we believe, is the best way and that way is the Mereway.
…other collections include:

Our First PremisesProduction of kitchen carcasses for independent retailers starts in a small 2000 sq. ft. warehouse at Unit 8, The Fordrough, Birmingham.
Colour Co-ordination Originally only offered in Light and Medium Oak, we are the first kitchen company to produce a colour co-ordinated carcass unit. Thought novel at the time, it is now considered the hallmark of a quality kitchen.
English Revival CollectionMereway develop and introduce a new range of classic period kitchens aimed at the bespoke market.
Early Carcass UnitAn example of one of our first carcass base units illustrating glued and dowelled rigid construction, Continual adjustable legs and single piece plastic drawer box.
Superior Carcass Quality Publicity stunt by a Mereway customer demonstrates the strength of our rigid glued and dowelled Mereway ‘car’cass units.
New Mereway ‘Complete’We launch the facility for customers to order units and doors from one supplier and move from being a component supplier to a full kitchen manufacturer. We go to market with our first full colour brochure and turnover increases by 43% in just one year.

Mereway Bathrooms Mereway Bathrooms move to a separate production site of 30,000 sq. ft. and is established as a separate company.
Investing in the Future Mereway Kitchens invest in new spraying, polishing and finishing technologies to become one of the first UK manufacturers to produce high gloss door finishes in-house. The second generation of English Revival is launched.
Cucina ColoreThe market sees a move towards experimenting with colour. We respond with the introduction of a new collection of contemporary Italian inspired designer kitchens which accounts for over 20% of our business within the first 12 months.
First Viral campaignWhile celebrating 25 years of Mereway, we created a film of a tank showing the quality of our kitchens compared to flat pack. The film goes viral and is a huge hit. Visit www.merewaykitchens.co.uk
25 Years of MerewayNow firmly recognised in the industry for our market leading quality and service, Mereway celebrate 25 years of success by recreating the famous publicity stunt from 1992 using a brand new Audi on the current carcasses!

A toy is just a toy, right?
Remember the days when a toy was very much more than that.
It wasn’t just a toy, it was a labour of love, expressed through the maker’s exceptional use of quality materials and his exquisite attention to detail.
Handcrafted, hand painted and handed down from generation to generation to become a much loved and treasured family heirloom.
Sadly the art of traditional craftsmanship is not found in many toy shops today, but you will find some fine examples here.
English Revival kitchens are built using high quality materials and, like the traditional toy maker, their craftsman spent an enormous amount of time on perfecting each individual piece resulting in a fine quality finished kitchen.
With designs inspired from distinguished periods in English history, each kitchen is built to stand the test of time and each one holds testament to traditional carpentry skills.
This collection is called English Revival… reviving the traditional skills of exceptional craftsman for the way we live today.
Call me a ‘traditionalist’… but I like the Mereway of doing things.

Quality & tradition
Award winning designers Dave Young and Ross Norgate of Young & Norgate with their dog Ian at their workshop in
Budleigh Salterton, Devon.
As designers and craftsmen, we create contemporary furniture that is unique, elegant and timeless. We make, not manufacture, crafting each piece of furniture by hand using time-honoured techniques from our workshop on the south coast of Devon. Whilst aesthetics are hugely important to us, we endeavour to deliver quality and longevity in our products. Good design should stand the test of time.
We pride ourselves in using the highest quality materials available and believe that the result is a piece of furniture that will only get better with time.

Call us ‘quality obsessed’ but we like the Mereway of doing things
These are the values we share with Mereway Kitchens who have created this collection of expertly made kitchen furniture.
Named English Revival, their collection encompasses all of the above values, with which we empathise, and are fine examples of the high standard of quality kitchen furniture making that can still be found manufactured in this country today.
Considered design. Traditional quality craftsmanship. An obsession with detail.
Discover our passion for building quality kitchens using traditional tools and methods beginning on page 14.
We think you will be very impressed, by both what you read and see.

Identifying with the principles behind the English Revival Collection, we set about
designing the Cooper Stool to compliment it..Rooted in the past but built for tomorrow.
11
First seen at the Clerkenwell Design Week 2013, the Young & Norgate Cooper Stool attracted many admiring looks and comments. Built and hand finished to a very high standard we are proud to be able showcase this in our collection.
You can see the complete range of English Revival kitchens starting on page 22 and we are proud to say you can see our limited edition stool showcased in the surrounds of a stunning Modern Classic kitchen on page 38.
Kitchen/Bar Stool inspired by the Cooper’s craft; the art of barrel making. The Cooper Stool design incorporates an angle-jointed seat base, allowing for increased comfort, as well as naturally splaying the legs of the stool to provide a sturdy footprint. We like to imagine a master Cooper resting upon his namesake, a tumbler of cider in hand. Made to order and limited to 100 pieces. Materials: Oak Dimensions: H720 x W360 x D255mm

Hand crafted limited edition Cooper Stool
Cooper Bar Stool
A quality hand built Cooper Stool designed for a fine range of quality built kitchens.
It all starts with British quality craftsmanship…
It starts with carefully selected timber sourced from as far away as North America. We take the time to specify the character of the wood required such as knots, splits and colour to suit individual ranges. Using a straight line edger the wood is squared up, ensuring only quality pieces of wood are used right from the very start. Expert planing and edge smoothing prepares the wood for the next stage where your kitchen can begin to take shape.

We use a traditional French Mitre Joint to strengthen timber frames. Butterfly Joints are used to connect door frames together with a water based glue to ensure ultimate strength. Every door is hand made and sanded numerous times to within a 500 micron tolerance to ensure the perfect finish, ready for the first paint application. It is then left to cure for several days, sanded again and then another coat is applied. This process can be repeated on numerous occasions to ensure the highest standards.
