Highlights of year 2011/12 Share point 2010 Upgrade Process completed during 1st & 2nd

quarters with the project sites. Conducted the Training sessions for SP 2010 with support of

Rekha and Prepared background work for training .

Office Package Upgraded from Office 2003 to office 2010

Hardware upgrade - upgrading the Memory / HDD on each

computers for installing above softwares

Installed and configured Hyper V server in order to install

SharePoint 2010 , SQL and Domain Controller Server

Minimize Spam Issues almost zero, Minimize Virus infections

Purchased and Replaced the new notebooks(12 Nos) with oldNBs and old desktops during the 4th Quarter.

Completed the IT fix assets verification and disposed the old

equipment's.

Project work performed ENERGIA portal Web management and energia portal

updates are continuing.

African Bio Gas Web designed and Site administration and

assisting for e discussions

Nanotech site Web development completed, customization is

continuing as per the request.

Janathakshan Janathakshan face lift completed . Provided

necessary technical input on request.

Duryog Nivaran Face lift is done, Layout and design

completed, Site Administration is continuing

Non- scheduled additional works Rectified Backup Device failure, and start using the

alternative backup plan with external Hard disks

We had to re-conduct the super user training newly

identified super users.

Remote level support provided to staff who are located in

different geographical locations. Design and Created database for energy survey and

coordinating the translation & data entry work.

Conducted the IT awareness and Security workshop for

Vidhatha officers in Mahiyanganaya for supportjanathakshan team.

Two hard disks of Sun Sever failed and the recovered back

to normal.

Conducted IT Security workshop for local staff.

Challenges

SharePoint data migration process result was very

painful for each staff member because we had to

convert folder structure into meta data values and less

knowledge of trainer about local data was effected to

end result.

Some of the trained super users resigned from practical

Action therefore we had to conduct more training

sessions.

Air-condition locate at server room ware trouble fewtimes and had to monitoring it frequently .

Hardware Faulty/repair frequency is high .

Future Plans

To introduce Skype for business and CISCO Webex

To design and implement the pilot level open source

working environment for Janathakshan and provide

necessary support and training.

Planning IT concerns of office closure plan and how the

services and the equipment should transferred or

handover.
