The International School of Walvis Bay
will present its famous annual International Day
on Saturday, 14 July 2018.

During the holidays in May, Mr Francesco Gigli presented a surfing workshop
attended by the Year 7 students of ISWB.
Students were introduced to the theory of surfing, basic water safety and
swimming instructions.
Thank you to Mr Gigli for organising this event.
As is evident in the photographs below, the experience was enjoyed by all

ISWB Afrikaans Debating
The Afrikaans Redenaars will demonstrate
their skills in debating once again
on Friday, 15 June 2018
at the annual Namibian semi-finals at
WBPHS.
We wish them eloquence of speech and
sound persuading on the day!
ISWB at the Comrades Marathon 2018
The 93rd Comrades Marathon between the cities of Pietermaritzburg and
Durban will take place on Sunday starting at 05h30.
The first Comrades Marathon was run on Empire Day, 24 May 1921,
when 34 runners lined up before the Pietermaritzburg City hall to commence
a race to Durban to commemorate the spirit and camaraderie of the soldiers
in the Great War
This year 20 000 runners will run the exhausting 89 km distance, also known
as the “The Ultimate Human Race”
Mr Stephen James, renowned teacher of physical science, physics and
chemistry at ISWB will take on this challenge.

Blood Donation Clinic at ISWB
On Thursday, 7 June. The mobile clinic visited ISWB and the
students and teachers again donated blood for this noble cause.
it is reported that the number of ISWB donors has grown compared
to the previous year.
We are very proud of our students and teachers who support this
effort.

The school will provide black bags for the students.
There will also be a sand castle building competition, so your child is welcome to
bring along building tools (bucket and spade).

All students from year 1 to year 3 are to be dropped off at Aphrodite Beach at 7:30am

and collected at Dolphin Beach at 11:00am.
Students are to wear civvies and comfortable walking shoes.
