01Login to Issuu
Go to http://issuu.com and sign in.
If you haven’t already got an issuu account, you will need to create one.

02Go to My Library
The link to your library can be found in a drop-down menu in the
upper right hand corner of the issuu home page, underneath your
username.

03Upload your Document
Once in the library, you can upload a new journal document. The
journal does not need to be complete before you upload it, as
you will be able to update the revision later.
The upload button is located in the upper right corner.

04Select and Describe Your File
Use the browse button to select the file you would like to upload.
The upload window also contains a series of descriptive fields
which need to be completed before you can upload your file.

05Check and Confirm Upload Options
Scroll down and check all the available upload options. In
particular, you should ensure your document is viewable to the
public, and that downloads are enabled.
Once all your settings are correct, click Upload!

06Upload!
After you click the Upload button, a progress bar will appear,
followed by a bar that says ‘Preparing your document’. It may
take issuu a little while to finalise your upload, so be patient!

07Upload Complete
When your upload has been finalised you will be presented
with the option to advertise your document.
This is a paid option, and not necessary for this studio.
We recommend you select ‘No Thanks’.

08Preview Your Document
It is a good idea to preview your document before embedding it
onto LMS. To preview, click on the document in the My Library
page and select ‘Open’. A new browser window will appear
containing your issuu document.

09Get Embed Your Code
To get the code required to embed your document within the
LMS Wiki, click the ‘Get Embed Code’ button.
This button is located below the document preview.

10Review Embed Settings
Once the ‘Embed this Publication’ dailogue box appears, scroll
down and review the embed settings.
You have the option to control the page layout, size, first page
and background colour of your embedded document.

11Copy the Embed Code
When you are happy with your settings, scroll up and ensure
that the menu on the left hand side says ‘HTML’.
Select and copy (Ctrl+C) all text within the ‘Get embed code’ field.

12Go to the LMS Wiki
A Wiki for this unit has already been created on LMS. To access
the Wiki, login to LMS and go to the ‘Wiki’ tab.

13Create Your Wiki Page
Add a new Wiki page for your work by clicking the
‘Add New Page’ button. Your page name must be your student
number, followed by your full name., as demonstrated below.
Ensure your page is stored within the correct tutorial group!
You may have already created your WIKI page in this case simply click on your page then click EDIT

14Turn HTML Editor On
Once your new page has been created, you will be taken
automatically to the ‘Edit’ window.
Turn the HTML Editor on by clicking the button indicated below.

15Paste Embed Code
When the HTML Editor is turned on, a new dialog box will appear.
Paste (Ctrl+V) the embed code from your issuu document into
the ‘HTML Source Editor’ and then click ‘Update’.

16Save and Exit
Once the HTML Source Code has been updated, click ‘Save and
Exit; to save your changes and return to your Wiki preview page.

17Congratulations!
Your Journal is now embedded on your LMS Wiki page.

18Updating your Document
When you are ready to upload a new version of your document,
return to the ‘My Library’ page on Issuu.
Ensure the previous revision of your document is selected in the
library, and then go to More > Update Document.

19Overwrite Links
An error dialogue box will appear stating that your updated
document will have a different link to the original revision. You will
therefore need to update the embed code in the LMS Wiki.
Click ‘Continue’.

20Insert Revised Document
Browse for and insert your new revision, as per previous uploads.
You may wish to change some of the description fields at this
point, but please ensure your sharing options remain the same so
that your document is downloadable.

21Upload Revised Document
After clicking the ‘Upload’ button your document should begin
uploading, as per the original revision.

22Check ‘My Library’
When yur upload is complete, check the document thumbnail in
‘My Library’. The thumbnail should now reflect your new revision.

23Get the NEW Embed Code
Repeat steps 9 to 11 of this tutorial and copy the embed code
for the new document revision (Ctrl+C).

24Broken Links on LMS
When you return to LMS having updated your document
you will notice that an error appears on your Wiki page stating
that the document cannot be found.
You will need to replace the old embed code with the new code.

25Paste NEW Embed Code
Edit your Wiki page, and return to the HTML Editor.
Select all text within the HTML Source Editor dialogue box
(Ctrl+A) and delete it, then paste the new embed code (Ctrl+V)
into the empty dialogue box. Click ‘Update’.

26Save and Exit
Once your HTML Embed Code has been updated,
click ‘Save and Exit’

27Document Update Complete!
Your updated document should now be correctly
embedded on your LMS Wiki page.
