Principal’s Report
Orientation Day Earlier this week we welcomed our Year 7 students for 2017 and their families to McGuire College. A jam
packed Presentation Room on Monday evening accommodated our Year 7 students and their parents for an
information session and this was followed by a full day at the College on Tuesday. It was great to welcome
students from 16 different local schools and to see them engage with each other, our staff and their learning
throughout the day. At this stage we look like welcoming 90 Year 7s next year and we look forward to
supporting each one of them to be their best as they work towards becoming lifelong learners and leaders
and our graduating class of 2022.
Presentation Night
Next Tuesday, 13th
December we will be holding our annual Presentation / Awards Night at Eastbank. This
is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our students and College and as such I would
like to encourage parents and friends to come along and join us on the evening. Our College musicians will
be providing entertainment from 6:15pm with formal proceedings commencing promptly at 7pm.
The parents of many of our award winners will have already been contacted to inform them that their son or
daughter will be an award recipient, for our senior award winners these notifications will take place on
Monday following the official release of results for 2016.

Staffing News
With the end of the school year we are now saying goodbye to a number of staff who will not be returning to
McGuire College in 2017.
- Ashley Robinson has been our Assistant Principal for the last two years and served our College, our
students and families as a dynamic, personable and inspiring leader. Ashley’s ability to bring out the
best in others and situations, as well as his leadership will be missed. We wish Ashley all the best as he
heads interstate for the future.
- Koshie Dinkha, Jacob Ennacheril and Hulya Tanyolacar all joined us in 2016 as Maths / Science
teachers and will not be returning in 2017. We thank them for their contribution to our College over the
past year and wish them every success with the next stages of their careers and lives beyond McGuire
College.
We also wish Des Quirk, Jaan Butler and Megan Dixon an enjoyable period of leave throughout 2017.
