Page2Industrial Visit July 19, 2018JSB organised an Industrial Visit for the First year students to theIndia Expo Centre (IEC), Greater Noida which has been adjudged asthe best MICE Convention Centre in the Country. The purpose of thevisit was to provide the students with a real insight into the workingprocedure of a world-class venue and to make the students aware ofthe opportunities present in the domain of organising events, exhi-bitions and conferences.Mr Pinaki, Business Head and Mr Puri, Operations Head at IEC inter-acted with the students and made a presentation on MICE – Meet-ings Incentives Conferences and Exhibitions & Events. Studentswere familiarised with the terminologies used in the domain ofevent organisation and were updated about the job opportunities inthe same domain. Students were also informed about the variousverticals into which MICE is operating.The session was followed by a visit to the facilities at the IEC, includ-ing the halls where the major conferences, exhibitions and otherevents like concerts and auto expo are organised. The map of thewhole Vehicular Movement, during the events, was shared with thestudents.

Subir Raha Memorial Lecture July 13, 2018UN Global Compact Network India organized its 8th SubirRaha Memorial Lecture on “Assured Inclusive Innovation:Path to CSR 2.0” at The Auditorium of Urja Bhawan, NewDelhi. Padma Vibhushan Dr. R A Mashelkar, President,Global Research Alliance, Former DG of Council of Scien-tific and Industrial Research (CSIR) delivered the lecture.The students of first year along with faculty members ofJSB were amongst the fortunate audience who attendedthe lecture by this world renowned celebrity.Expert Talk July 27, 2018

The First-year students at JSB got an opportunity to attend a GuestTalk by Col. Amitabh Mishra at the institute campus. Col. Mishraretired from the Indian Army Education Corps as commissioned offi-cer and has a distinguished career of 32 years with an excellent trackrecord in different types of training environment and training acad-emies both in administrative and instructional capacity.The Guest Speaker, Col. Mishra talked about the Indian Army, high-lighting its structure of command and the training procedure of thecadets. Indian army officer cadets are trained to be mentally andphysically very strong. There is a different duration of training fordifferent entries in the army. A Cadet studies war tactics, survivalskills and many more strategies that will enable him to lead men atthe front during wartime. An officer is a leader and for a great army,the leader must be great. At the training academies, the cadet istransformed from a boy to great leader and a gentleman. He under-goes rigorous physical training that boosts his stamina and power.Col. Mishra also talked in brief about the composition of variousbattalions and regiments. Some of the videos about the graduationday of the cadets were indeed awe-inspiring. Everybody in the Hallwas emotionally charged and had a sense of pride after knowingabout the rigours that our army men undergo during the trainingand later while guarding the national borders. It is very importantthat we all know about our Army and the soldiers who put theirlives at stake; guard the frontiers of the nation, and let thecitizens live in peace.

Expert Talk July 20, 2018The students of JSB attended a guest lecture by Mr SalilBhatia, Director at AQG India Educonsultancy Pvt. Ltd.at its campus. The session was organised to raise the stu-dents’ awareness of the various SIP & Placement opportu-nities available abroad. The Speaker talked in detail about thebenefits of international exposure and shared informationabout the roles and profiles available internationally. Thespeaker of the session was Ms. Tanvi Bhatt: A 3X TED Speaker. Tanvi isinvited for keynotes by MNCs like Bank Of America, KPMG, Pfizer, Cap-gemini, Deloitte, Infosys, Mahindra, TATAs and Indian as well as GlobalForums like the CII, PHD Chamber, TED Talks, TiE Conferences, DubaiSME World Summit, IITs, IIMs, etc.

The event commenced with Prof. Yusuf Mehdi introducing the Jaipuria Group and the Guests from different colleges. It was fol-lowed by a welcome address by Dr S. K. Mahapatra, Director, JSB . The Director thanked the guests for sparing their time to partakein the conclave. He deliberated on some of the finer aspects of Outcome Based Education. Sh. Vinod Malhotra, Member, BoG, JSBdiscussed about the challenges and the opportunities in OBE and very beautifully related the theory with preachings from theBhagwad Gita. Shri Malhotra also threw light on various aspects of Outcome Based Education.Dr B. S. Hothi, Director, GIBS, New Delhi talked about the need of getting trained and experienced teachers in order to expect gooddelivery of the course content. Dr. Praveen Pachauri, Director, NIET, Greater Noida, emphasized that the fault never lies in the stu-dents but in the method of delivery of the course content and in its planning. Further discussion on the topic brought out variousvery valuable inputs from the heads of institutions and these inputs would certainly help all the institutions improve the quality ofeducation that is imparted to the students who are the would-be-managers and professionals.The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Santosh Kumar, and presentation of mementos by Sh. Vinod Malhotraand the Director to the guests of honour as tokens of appreciation and gratitude

The event commenced with Prof. Yusuf Mehdi introducing the Jaipuria Group and the Guests from different colleges. It was fol-lowed by a welcome address by Dr S. K. Mahapatra, Director, JSB . The Director thanked the guests for sparing their time to partakein the conclave. He deliberated on some of the finer aspects of Outcome Based Education. Sh. Vinod Malhotra, Member, BoG, JSBdiscussed about the challenges and the opportunities in OBE and very beautifully related the theory with preachings from theBhagwad Gita. Shri Malhotra also threw light on various aspects of Outcome Based Education.Dr B. S. Hothi, Director, GIBS, New Delhi talked about the need of getting trained and experienced teachers in order to expect gooddelivery of the course content. Dr. Praveen Pachauri, Director, NIET, Greater Noida, emphasized that the fault never lies in the stu-dents but in the method of delivery of the course content and in its planning. Further discussion on the topic brought out variousvery valuable inputs from the heads of institutions and these inputs would certainly help all the institutions improve the quality ofeducation that is imparted to the students who are the would-be-managers and professionals.The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Santosh Kumar, and presentation of mementos by Sh. Vinod Malhotraand the Director to the guests of honour as tokens of appreciation and gratitude

Dr. Anindita Asso Prof, attended an MDPon “Finance for Non Finance” profession-als by Ginni filaments on 7th July 2018.Shewas also a resource person for the same.
