Dear VBeyondians,
We welcome year 2015, as a Breakthrough year for our organization, led by all VBe-
yondians.
This is the 8th Anniversary of VBeyond Corporation. Thanks to everyone for being part
of this journey.
As a practice, this year we organized our 6th annual conference, eNVISION-2015 in
Rishikesh, on the bank of Holy river Ganga. We had exciting 3 days program compris-
ing review of last year, Goal-setting for next year & adventure test of VBeyondians by
fighting chilled rapids of Ganga (For few, it was a breakthrough rafting, first timer like
me).
Year-2015 is unique & significant for two major reasons; first, this year we have taken
breakthrough revenue target & our slogan is breakthrough or breakdown (here I re-
call Gandhi Ji’s historical statement Do or Die which had breakthrough impact on
Indian political history).
Secondly, HR Depts. have given slogan of “People, Process & Technology” for 2015.
We assure everyone that we are committed to add best people in VBeyond team, we
would create & implement best processes (in comply with ISO 9001: 2008) & we will
rigorously follow advance Technology by implementing & executing our internal ATS
software, VIRAT across the organization.
Further, we are not here just to fulfill our personal & organization dreams, but we do
care for our society. It was exciting for all VBeyondians to be part of “Clean India Mis-
sion” & contributing our surroundings by making it neat & clean.
Further, you would be excited to read Guest column in this issue. On our request, Mr.
Arindam Chakraborty, VP-HR, Eicher-Polaris, has shared his exclusive thoughts &
Moments with us. Hope you all get benefits by his candid & upfront suggestions/
Feedbacks.
Regards,
HR

About Eicher Polaris: They are JV between Eicher and
Polaris. It’s a 50:50 stake holding between the two partners.
Technically, a start – up venture to manufacture and
distribute 4 wheel personal vehicle for an identified diaspora
lying in the semi-urban and rural markets of India. The
product would be out for retailing in April 2015. An exciting
venture , destined to create a new category and market
segment.
Bala : What do you find amazing, working with your company?
Arindam : A) Ability to experiment and bring newness to work. Think different
B) Learning a new sector. I am working for an auto sector for the 1st time
C) A boundary less organization
Bala : How has been your experience working with VBeyond team and what can we do
better?
Arindam : Approachable and never give up mindset. However, it’s important to , look into, other
untested and uncharted means of identifying bright spots (candidates)
Bala : What would be your advice to a budding recruiter at VBeyond?
Arindam: A) Understand clients need
B) Immerse with the role (mandate) and identify what do they do, how do they deliver
and better consistently. Where can we find them is the discovery stage.
Bala : 3 things which you learnt from your Boss/Mentor?
Anindam: A) Ideation
B) Co-create solutions
C) Benchmarking is good to do but that limits your knack of inventing.
“I, see firms have the natural tendency and urgency to close the mandate and using col-
loquial tools. It’s important to understand and visualize the role. It’s not all size fits all!
More often, the explorative stage is not given importance since you want to serve and
chase a metric TAT.”

A recent study showed that when doctors tell heart patients they
will die if they don't change their habits, only one in seven will
be able to follow through successfully. Desire and motivation
aren't enough: even when it's literally a matter of life or death,
the ability to change remains maddeningly elusive. Given that
the status quo is so potent, how can we change ourselves and
our organizations? In "Immunity to Change," authors Robert
Kegan and Lisa Lahey show how our individual beliefs--along
with the collective mind-sets in our organizations--combine to
create a natural but powerful immunity to change.
From : Immunity to Change – Robert Kegan
Bala : A Business personality you admire most and why?
Arindam: Alaganandan Balaram (my manager at Britannia). Continuously challenged me and my
perspective - which enabled me to sharpen my thought and rationale. Infact, it helped me
to look at HR from business lenses .
Bala : What you do on Sundays …
Arindam : I like to explore good food joints.
Bala : Your favorite book?
Arindam : Immunity to Change – Robert Kegan
Bala : Your favorite movie/ movie star?
Arindam : Not a movie buff.
Bala : Had you not been a HR Leader (current profile)...
Arindam : I would have been playing cricket.
Bala : Your biggest achievement so far ...
Arindam : ...Will surely answer this question once we get Eicher Polaris Vehicles on road. This
is big, really big!!! Been the 1st employee of the JV hence its large than anything been
achieved so far . This is like building an organization….

Dear Disha, Thanks for giving the opportunity to share a feedback on the whole proc-ess. The journey had been indeed a pleasant one, considering the consolidated impact of the followings: 1. Clear expectation setting from VBeyond on job profile. That was the best thing to happen, as most of the times, profile discussed by consultant and the Company are not the same. So a feeling of being cheated arise. But that was not the case with VBeyond. I would suggest, maintain this atti-tude and it would go a long way in maintaining and enhancing your brand name. 2. Prompt response on any question, whether on mail or by phone. Disha, your response time and availability to revert in quick time is worth men-tioning. Really appreciate that.
3. Not setting any expectations on expected drawn CTC and leaving that to be at negotiation between the Company and myself was also a good ap-proach. Unnecessary building the expectations hamper conversion. To sum up, experience with VBeyond was good and if anyone approach me for any reference on placement consultants, you would be my first choice. To end with few lines on Disha: keep up the good work, and I am sure, wherever you go and work, whichever sector you are associated with, you will prosper as you have the professional attitude to cope up with pressure and get things done. God bless. Regards, Navin Lakhotia AVP– Regulatory Reporting Genpact
Hi Alok,
Please provide this recognition to Stella on behalf of Wynd-
ham.
Thanks!
Alisha Santos
Resource Manager
Wyndham MSP Program
Stella was a new PM and took this project over from someone else.
Stella jumped right in, asked lots of questions and learned the RCI
processes along the way. Stella did a great job with helping me with
the budget and hours, extra meetings to get QA setup, defects, pro-
duction and anything else that was needed to keep the project mov-
ing forward. Stella has caught on quickly and really helped make the
Clubs project a success for the release.
Thank you Stella, great job.

How High Performers Can Win Over Their Coworkers
Superstars often struggle to bond with their teams because they're viewed as always putting their needs ahead of
everyone else's. And while it’s easy to start feeling entitled when you’ve worked hard to win authority, no one
wants to be excluded from team lunches or left out of important meetings. If you're a high performer who's being
excluded or cold-shouldered, you might want to show your colleagues that you care about the group’s goals and
performance too. Be thoughtful and cooperative to defuse your colleagues’ impulse to take you down. Put their
needs ahead of your own. If you know a better way to do a certain task, share that knowledge to boost the team’s
productivity. Ask for help and advice so you don’t seem like a know-it-all. Thank teammates for their contribu-
tions, and share any praise with the entire team. If you make an effort to be altruistic, the group will reward you.
