It was great to welcome back our nursery, reception, Y1 and

Y6 pupils this week! It's so nice to see all of your smiling faces

again and to see you having fun in the classroom and

playground. We have missed you!

HOW ARE WE STAYING SAFE?

Our school is a little bit different now and we have all sorts of social distancing measures in

place to keep our staff and pupils as safe as possible.

FIRST AID NOTES

If your child is at school and needs first aid attention, we will call you instead of

sending home a note. So, if you get a call from us, don't worry!

HOT DINNERS COLLECTION

Our kitchen staff have been working hard making hot dinners not only for the

pupils in school, but for those at home too. Don't forget you can collect these

every day from the main gates from 12.00pm - 1.00pm.

Here are some of the delicious meals we have enjoyed this week! The menu for

the next 2 weeks is at the end of the newsletter.

Weekly Value Awards

Kevin 4C

Excellence - Kevin has been very active on Google Classroom, he completes all

work set and tries 100%. Kevin has attended Google Hangout sessions and his class

party every week. He engages and enthusiastically participates. Well done!

Pearlie 3E

Excellence - Pearlie has been incredibly busy with her studies, but also in exploring

different subjects and cooking with her mum. She has not only been doing the

work set in our Google Classroom but has also been on the Oak National

Academy and has actively sought out even more resources to keep learning at

home! What a role model… well done Pearlie and well done mum!

Sarim 2E

Excellence - Sarim attends all his hangouts and participates well. He also engages

with wider learning like PE with Jakir. He is also a great role model for his brother,

and helped his whole family to understand how to access the online learning.

Sufyaan 1C

Excellence - He has been doing an outstanding job at his online learning. He is

demonstrating lots of new skills that he has learned and he continues to be a

great example to his peers and classmates. He has made us all proud!

Mushin RC

Community - He has come back to school and has been really kind to his friends.

Her has been helping 5them with their work and asking them to play with him. He

has also been tidying the classroom and encouraging others to do the same.

ACADEMY COUNCIL

We will be having our regular Academy Council meeting on Tuesday 9th June at

9.00am via Google Hangouts. Come along for a chat, or just to listen in. If you

have any questions about the current arrangements and organisation, I will do my

best to answer them!

FRIDAY IS SUPERHERO DAY!

Wear your superhero outfit to school (if you are coming in) or make sure you have

it on at home for our Friday assembly!

As part of SUPERHERO Friday, we want to know who YOUR real life superhero is!

It could be a family member, a friend, someone in the community, a teacher or

TA at school - anyone who is a real life superhero in your eyes.

Please email me at principal@oldfordacademy.org with their name and the

reason and I will read some out at Friday's assembly.
