Goal Keeping CourseGoalkeeping is a specialist position and keepers benefit
from additional training sessions designed to help them
develop the relevant skills.
We have been lucky enough to secure the services of an
FA qualified goalkeeping coach.
John will run an initial session on 19th November 11-12 at
the Cricket Club.
If this is successful then we will look to arrange
further sessions later in the season.
Places are limited and age group coaches will
be speaking to their goal keepers to encourage
them to take up this opportunity.
2016/17 Christmas PartyOur Annual Christmas Party will be held on Sunday
11th December – so keep the date free!
In previous years we have taken the boys to Lazerzone
and then had food, games, and drinks back in the Club
House.
This year we are looking to do something different to
Lazerzone before coming back to the Club House as
usual. One suggestion has been to play football at the
Zone.
If anyone has any other suggestions then please let
Alan Meredith know before the November Parents’ and
Coaches’ meeting so we can take them into account.
We will make a decision at the November meeting and
let parents and kids know soon afterwards.

Enjoy the GamesIn conjunction with the Huddersfield Junior Football League and the FA Respect
Programme we are reminding all parents and supporters that Junior Football is
played for one reason – so that boys and girls can enjoy playing football in a safe
and welcoming environment.
We all know how easy it is to get too involved in the on field action (just ask David
Wagner). This is even more the case when your own child is playing. However,
it’s important to remember that this is not the Premier League and that it’s easy to
accidently upset players or put them off of their game.
Young players can easily be distracted, and it’s important to let the coaches do
their job and not confuse players by telling them what to do.
Support positively – when players
make a mistake offer them
encouragement and not criticism.
Respect the referee’s decision
even when you don’t agree with
them.
Remember the coaches and
referees are all volunteers.

Winter Training U11sWinter training starts on Friday 11th November. Sessions will be
held on the 3G pitches at Huddersfield Rugby Union Club from
7.30 to 8.30. Training on Friday evenings will help us to prepare
for Sunday matches. The excellent facilities at the Rugby Club
will allow us to train throughout the winter, when weather
conditions are likely to restrict opportunities to train on grass.
Now that the boys are older (and bigger) the extra space will also
allow us to run sessions more suitable to their needs.
There will be a small charge to cover the cost of facility hire.
Contact Steve for more details.
