HOLIDAY PROGRAM SURVEY Thank you again to those families who responded to our recent holiday program survey. This feedback will provide us with invaluable information as we begin planning for the next holiday period. Congratulations to Nicole Lloyd-Nyunja who is the winner of the $50 holiday program credit! STUDENT FREE DAY - AUGUST 15 A reminder that children who will be attending The Shed or Crocs excursion on Monday will need to arrive at OSHC no later than 9am, for a 9.15am departure. Lunch will be provided to students on both excursions and in-centre. Those attending Crocs must wear socks at all times so please make sure your child has some on the day. Those attending The Shed will need to make sure they bring a helmet from home as well as their scooter or skate board. CDC program TERM 3 MENU PLAN WEEKS 6-10 The menu plan for term 3 weeks 6-10 is now available on the OSHC website here. WAKAKIRRI & AEROBICS PERFORMANCES Congratulations to those children who competed in the Wakakirri Eisteddfod on Wednesday night and those at the AeroSchools State Championship today! We look forward to hearing all about it. FATHERS’ DAY BREAKFAST—SAVE THE DATE Our annual Fathers Day breakfast will be held this year on Friday, September 2. This is always a highlight for the staff and children so we hope to see lots of dads, uncles, grandads, big brothers or other special persons during the morning. Be sure to note this date in your diary! FEES & INVOICES Invoices for care in week ending 7/8/16 were emailed out this week with payment due by Friday, August 19. Please contact Britt at the school office or [email protected] with any queries FITNESS CLUB Fitness club will commence next Tuesday, August 16. Students from grades 3 to 6 who would like to participate in these sessions will be taken to the oval with a carer who will assist the PE teachers with the delivery of this program. Students who need to eat breakfast at OSHC should arrive in plenty of time to eat before the session commences. RIO OLYMPICS The children are really enjoying the opportunity to watch the Olympics during before school care. Highlights have been the gold medal performance by the ladies Rugby 7s, the swimming and basketball. The children have also enjoyed updating the medal tally each day. During the week many of you will have seen the children making Olympic sculptures. These have been tricky having to first form the athlete’s shape with wire, cover in foil and then plaster wrap. We have been amazed by the children’s creativity and enthusiasm. We had hoped to display some of them in centre but the children have been very keen to take them home. We have also been focusing on the official language of Brazil—Portuguese! We have learned a few phrases, such as “ola” and “obrigado” and look forward to further developing our knowledge next week! SPRING GARDEN This week we had a lovely surprise with the flowering of our winter bulbs . Planning has now begun for our Spring garden. Yesterday, we relocated our compost bin to make space for two Eureka lemon trees. We have been enjoying vegetables from the garden over the past weeks and have plans for some new additions - sweet potatoes, beans and snow peas. 2017 ENROLMENT APPLICATIONS - SAVE THE DATE Enrolment applications for care in 2017 will open at 7am on October 14.
