Each year our Year 4-7 students participate in the Wellbeing and Engagement Data Collection.
This year we completed the surveys at the end of March and have just received our results. To protect student identity we don’t receive individual results.
The results support us in engaging school staff, students and the broader school community in conversations about our students’ wellbeing and engagement. We are able to incorporate what is learnt, where necessary, into school and partnership planning.
Some of the results which you may find interesting are;
• School climate, which is the overall tone of our school environment, has increased from 24% in 2016 to 58% in 2019.
• School belonging, which refers to the degree to which young people feel connected and valued at school, has increased from 41% in 2016 to 58% in 2019.
• Our students reported an increase in their positive wellbeing, which means how positive they feel, in all areas of bullying:
Physical bullying positive wellbeing was 52% in 2016 and 72% in 2019.
Verbal bullying positive wellbeing was 21% in 2016 and 60% in 2019.
Social bullying positive wellbeing was 36% in 2016 and 76% in 2019.
Cyber bullying positive wellbeing was 67% in 2016 and 85% in 2019.
All areas of bullying show an improvement in students’ positive wellbeing.
• An area of concern is that a lot of our students are experiencing ‘worries’. In 2016, 37% of our students reported positive wellbeing in this area, in 2019 58% of our students are reporting positive well-being. While that is an improvement, there are still 42% of our students who are worried about things. As a whole school community we need to work together to develop strategies to support our students in this area.
Overall, our students’ data showed that they are generally happy, optimistic and satisfied with life with a high academic self-concept. To enable our students to achieve to the best of their ability we aim to develop the whole child, which requires a focus on their wellbeing and engagement with school.

H2A Measuring Length in Maths
In House 2 A the children have been exploring measurement in length. They
are using informal units to measure different objects in the classroom.
P1C ZOO TRIP
On Friday the 24th of May the year 4/5’s
from P1C and P1D attended an excursion to
the Adelaide Zoo. The children spent the
day discovering the different adaptations of
many animals. We are now taking this
information and choosing one animal to
research in Science. The day was fantastic
despite the weather and everyone had a
great time.
