PLEASE, OPEN THIS BOOK !Author: Adam lehrhauptPublisher: new York: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers,

2015Call no.: Junior lending Picture Book English lEh

What would you do if you had to save some animal characters trapped in a book? Makes you wonder why they were stuck there in the first place! Please, Open This Book! is a hilarious story about a group of monkeys trying desperately to get the reader not to turn another page – a perfect example of play incorporated in reading to be enjoyed by both parent and child.

Still, the story must go on and as the book draws to an end, the child is forced to choose between keeping the creatures trapped or setting them free; encouraging the child to learn simple decision making, one page at a time.

QUEEN MUNCH AND QUEEN NIBBLEAuthor: Carol Ann DuffyPublisher: london: Two hoots, 2016Call no.: Junior lending Simple Fiction English DUF

A loveable and humorous story about contrary characters, talents and friendship between two royalties, Queen Munch and Queen Nibble. Loud and effervescent Queen Munch loves nothing more than good food, eating scrumptious desserts and has a huge appetite for breakfast, whereas Queen Nibble dislikes food, is pale, introverted and enjoys making necklaces out of raindrops. So when Queen Munch decides to invite Queen Nibble for a visit to win her friendship, it seems like a spell for disaster. But there is more to each Queen than meets the eye and soon a friendship begins to blossom. With the two loveable queens and touches of brilliant vibrant illustration and colourful artworks, this whimsical tale is a perfect read for young readers.
