Thanking the people that follow your pages and share your content is a great way to provide a personal social media experience. However, sending the exact message for everyone can convey the opposite message you want to get across. Being lazy about personalizing your “thank you” messages and setting up an automated “Thank you for following/sharing” can be quite annoying for the receiver. Change that up by sending personalized messages. It’s simple and quick but makes a difference!

Share Your Follower’s Posts Most social media marketers already know how to put out content that relates to their brand, but not everyone knows how to make it truly engaging and fun. Many social media consumers report that they’ll pay more attention to content that was re-posted and shared than content that was just spewed out by businesses. So the next time you share a link to a cool infographic, actually make a comment about what you learned and why it relates to your brand. Don’t just say “Check out this infographic!” Tell them why it’s relevant to your business.

Monitor Your Local Followers The search bar on social media websites can be a powerful tool. You can create personal touches to your social media marketing campaign by simply searching for relevant keywords located around your business. For example, if you’re a juice shop located in Houston, Texas, search for “healthy lunch” and “Houston” in social media. If you find someone asking “Anyone know where I can get a healthy lunch in Houston today?” All you have to do is tweet back with your business’ location and whatever specials you may have that day. Make sure you also monitor for mentions about your business—and make sure you reply in a friendly way!
