History

• Silicon Valley chapter first floated around Feb 2008• Outreach to members from ISOC. 30 showed interest

and support.• April 2008 Website and mailing list established• Nov 2008 efforts from Sophia Bekele, Annalisa Roger,

Franck Martin helped shape bylaws, chapter application.

• Chapter established Feb 16th 2009

Mission

• Enable members to exchange technical, policy, or otherwise relevant information amongst themselves.

• Provide the opportunity for outreach from the chapter to the local community on these topics.

• Promote the core values of the Internet society.• Interact with other ISOC Chapters and groups

globally as well as relevant groups outside of ISOC.• Develop programs related to standards, public policy,

and education for the membership.
