Plans for registry/ nephrology resources in the region
• Big challenge • The links between ISN Regional Board and National/Regional Society of

Discussions • Membership:
– Young doctors training in nephrology under the age of 37 get a FREE ISN membership. This needs to be better communicated.
– Affiliated societies can develop collective membership agreements with ISN: A minimum of 75% of the Society members become ISN members at a reduced rate. This can be negotiated with ISN HQ
• Affiliated societies: – The Regional Board should encourage societies to become affiliated there are several
benefits: ! Possibility to sign up for Collective Membership. A minimum of 75% of the Society
members become ISN members at a reduced rate. ! Priority consideration for the organization of joint events (World Congresses of
Nephrology, Nexus symposia, Forefronts symposia). ! Priority endorsement of special courses and/or events. ! Announcement of courses and/or events through ISN media (Gateway, Newsletter,
E-updates). ! Acknowledgement of the affiliated societies’ role in supporting the philanthropic and
humanitarian mission of ISN in ISN publications and media.
Discussions
• ISN Programs: – South to south collaboration should be encouraged: eg: in China.
• Survey on the state of nephrology: – One contact person within the societies should be appointed to be the official
contact person to respond to a survey gathering data and information on the state of nephrology in the region.
