WHAT DOES ALLAH DOAllah created Everything on earth i.e.

stars ,moon ,mountains, people, plants and animals

Allah gives life and death: Allah gives us life and will take our life away. After all of us die, one day Allah will set up the day of awakening. At that time the dead people will come back to life

Allah provides food: Allah provides us with all different types of food. The farmers grow the vegetables. If Allah did not give rain, sunshine and weather the farmers cant grow anything. Animals need grass to graze and survive. Without animals we cannot get meats, eggs or fishes.

Allah makes earth Liveable: Allah gave us the earth to live.

Allah gives Knowledge: Allah gave us knowledge and intelligence. To guide the people, Allah sent Prophets. The prophets taught their people why they should worship only Allah. The prophets showed us the Right Path

Allah sends Rizq: Allah sends us Rizq. The word rizq means all that we need like money, health, knowledge and a good family. Sometimes He gives more Rizq to someone and less to others because He knows what is good for us

Allah Test us: Many times Allah puts us to a test. His tests maybe easy or difficult. He tests us with good or bad things. During these tests, if we remember Allah and have patience, he will make us successful in this life

Page 5: Islamic Studies level 3

Allah forgives us: if we make a mistake and pray to Allah and do Dua and Tauba and promise to stay away from sin, Allah will forgive us. If we do not ask for forgivness Allah may punish on earth or the afterlife

Allah guides: the people that want to be good, Allah

guides them. The people that don’t want to be good, Allah leaves them alone. If Allah leaves someone alone, the person will be lost and confused.

Allah protects us: Allah watches everything we do. He

protects us from danger. He can see what is in our mind and what we hide from others. In the Quran Allah says that HE is nearer to us than the veins in our body. 50:16

Allah never forces us: Allah never forces us to do anything. He gave us freedom to chose any path we want to take. He teaches us that if we do good our end will be good, if we do bad our end will be bad. We decide if we want good or bad.

beautiful names. Allah says that the most beautiful names belong to Him. The beautiful names of Allah are called “Asma al-Husna”. From a hadith we can learn 99 of his names. All these names describe something good or special about Allah.

One name is Ar – Rahman. It means Allah is most Kind. Nobody can be kinder than Allah. The name Ar – Rahim means Allah is most MercifulAnother name of Allah is Al- Malik. This name tells us He is the owner, the King or the Master of the universe.Another name of Allah is As – Salam, which means he gives peace. Without peace everything would be a mess.

Allah – The Most Merciful In the last lesson we learned about some of the most

beautiful names of Allah. One of the most merciful names of Allah is Ar-Rahman. It means the most Kind or the most Merciful. This name tells us Allah is full of mercy and kindness towards everything.

Allah said that His mercy covers everything. This means everything we see around us is an example of His mercy. The air, water, weather, plants, grass, trees, daylight – everything is an example of Allah’s mercy. Can you imagine what would happen to us without fresh air? Similarly can you imagine what would have happened to us if there was no daylight, no water, no plants, no animals , no sun or no food.

Allah is so kind He gives us many things as gifts. We do not have to do anything to earn these gifts. He gives us these gifts in His own, without anybody asking for them. Even if we do sins, Allah still gives these things to us. All these things were there even before we were born.

Page 9: Islamic Studies level 3

In a Hadith we learn the Prophet (s) said, “ Allah has divided Mercy into one hundred parts, and He kept ninety – nine parts with Him and sent down one part to earth and because of that one single part, His creatures are merciful to each other”

Allah is so kind that He sends us Guidance. Guidance is like a road direction that tells us which way to go. If there was no guidance then we would have been lost.

Allah sent our Prophet Muhammed (s) as a mercy to mankind. This is because Prophet Muhammed (s) taught the people about Allah’s Messages. Allah’s messages are written in the Quran. The Quran can guide everybody towards the right Path. The Quran is thus a mercy for the people.

Page 10: Islamic Studies level 3

Allah sends rain as a mercy. Can you imagine what would have happened if there was no rain? The earth would have become a desert and all living plants and animals would have died.

When we do any sin, Allah punishes us. The punishment is actually a mercy of Allah. The punishment is to correct our mistakes and make us good people. If we do one sin, the punishment is just one. The punishment is never more than the actual sin. This is also mercy because Allah does not punish us with ten punishment when the sin is only one. If we do one good act, the reward is much more than the act. This is also Allah’s Mercy. He wants to give us more rewards for good things that we do.

Because Allah is so kind, He does not punish us the moment we do sin. He gives us enough time so that we may realise our sins and seek forgiveness. If we promise never to do the same sin again, Allah will forgive this sin. He may forgive almost any sin we do. This is because He is full of Mercy.

Allah – The best Judge In a baseball game we have an umpire. In a soccer game

we have a referee. In other games we also have umpire or referee. The roles of the umpire or the referee are to keep the game fair and to make sure that the players follow the rules. The players have to obey and follow the decisions of the referee or the umpire.

Similarly, in other areas of our life we have people who work much like umpires. They are the judges. The judges listen to people’s complaints and give a judgment about who is right and wrong. This takes place in a court.

Allah is also a judge. One of His most beautiful names is Al-Adl which means “The Just” because He is fair to everyone. His another name is Al-Hakam which means “The Judge”. As a judge, His role is to decide who is right and wrong. Allah judges over all the people in every state and in every country. Allah will judge every person from every religion.

Page 12: Islamic Studies level 3

A human being judge can make his judgment from proofs or witnesses he gets. He will not know everything. But Allah know all the proofs. He is the best witness. Allah’s judgment is the most accurate. No proof can remain hidden from Allah, even if some proof was hidden under a rock, Allah knows about it.

A human judge may sometimes give a judgment that may not be the best or may not be fair. Allah’s judgment is the best and the most fair.

A human judge can give a judgment if you complain to him. Allah will judge everybody. Every man, every woman, every youth and every child will be judged. His judgment includes every action of a person. It is a total judgment.

Some people think God is so Kind that he will forgive all the sins. This is not a good thing. If a judge forgives everyone, this world will be full of bad things. If Allah forgives all the sins, there will be to many bad people. If you do a good thing, you will be rewarded. This is the best judgment.

Allah judges us on this earth and He will judge us in the Hereafter. On this earth Allah disciplines us – He rewards those who do good and punishes those who do bad. On earth sometimes sinners do not get punished and sometimes good deeds are not fully rewarded. Therefore Allah will set up day of judgment to reward or Punish us.

Our final judgment, will be in the hereafter. On the day of judgment every human being from the time of Adam (A) will be judged. This judgment will be the most accurate and most fair. If someone did not get a reward in this life, he/she will get the best reward in the afterlife. Similar to those who never got punished in this life, he/she will be punished from Allah. Nobody can escape the Judgment of Allah.

Allah is the best of all the judges

We are Muslims: we have Iman

When we say we are Muslims, we should know why we are Muslims. As a Muslim what do we do? What do we believe in?

As Muslims are required to have certain beliefs. Our belief is called Iman. For example we believe Allah as our God. This is an Iman. We believe in the angles. It is also Iman. There are other things we believe as Muslims. All the Iman together makes a system of faith. The system of faith is Islam. People who follow Islam are the Muslims.

As Muslims, we believe in the following points. These are the fundamental parts of our Iman.◦ Tawhid: This is the belief that Allah is only one. There is nothing that can

be equal to Allah. There is nothing In the world that can be his partner. He has no son, no daughter. He has no parent, no wife. He has no junior or senior God

◦ Angels: We believe that angles exist and the are creations of Allah. We do not see them but they can see us. They follow the orders of Allah. They always glorify Allah. The angles had many other duties. They help the believers.

Page 14: Islamic Studies level 3

The books of Allah: we believe in the book of Allah. Before sending the Quran to Prophet Muhammed (S), Allah sent many other books to other prophets. The books were the Tawrat, Zabur and Injil. There was also Suhuf sent to some other prophets.

Messengers of Allah:The messengers are the Rasuls. We believe in all the messenger sent by Allah. We make no difference among them. These messengers came to guide their communities in the past. Every community received their own messenger, they came in different parts of the world. The names of all the messengers are not listed in the Quran. Muhammed (s) was a messenger of Allah.

Akhirat: We believe in Akhirat. It means the Hereafter. Many things will happen during Akhirat. Our Iman tells us that the world will come to an end and all the dead people will rise up. Life in the Akhirat will last forever. Day of judgment will be set up to reward us for our good deeds and punish those who did wrong. If we have faith and enough good deeds, we will go to heaven.

All of us are Muslims because we have same Iman. We may speak in different Languages, eat different foods and wear different clothing, but we are all Muslims. We maybe from different countries and different part of the world. We may do different jobs and different businesses, but we are united. Our Iman binds us together.
