Dear Colleagues,

Only the best will go to the Olympics! Despite wars and crises, united by solidarity and equal interests. We have organized the best of the best in various disciplines of aesthetic surgery, so that you can still learn from experts from all over the world and stay up to date in these difficult times.

Our new concept, the ISAPS Olympiad, will feature the best speakers from every continent. And you are the jury! During the congress you can vote online for whom you liked best, from whom you learned the most, or where you simply say: what a great new idea. You decide who will advance to the next round and who you want to see and hear again. The grand finale will be the 2023 ISAPS Olympiad in Athens, Greece. Until then, we will organize more pre-Olympic games where you get to decide who goes to Athens. One of these pre-Olympic games will hopefully be next year in Vienna.

You have already gotten used to online webinars, but this virtual congress will be special! You will be able to interact directly with the industry and many exhibitors. The industry has missed us all and is looking forward to seeing you again and rewarding you for your visit in the exhibition hall with special offers. This unique virtual experience is sure to remain in your memory.

As an ISAPS member, you are also invited to attend our General Assembly, the heart of our congress. Here we will inform you about the most important ISAPS news and latest changes and we will introduce you to the newly elected Board of Directors. This year is especially exciting because we have had many new applicants for the first time in ISAPS history.

I am very pleased to hand ISAPS over in good condition to my successor as President, Dr. Nazim Cerkes. Together with my hard-working team and our long-time treasurer Kai Schlaudraff, we have brought ISAPS through the current crisis, which our members have thanked us for with the largest membership in the history of ISAPS. Financially, we have never been in such a good position, despite the cancellation of many events. As a result, we could afford to make many events free for members and to offer price reductions for membership fees and learning platforms, as a thank you for your loyalty and to give something back to you.

Finally, celebrate ISAPS’ 50th anniversary with us in a small, digital ceremony. During the ceremony, I will go over a short review of the last few years, as well as introduce some new faces in the ISAPS team. Sarah Johnson will replace our long-standing Executive Director, Catherine Foss, in January so that Catherine can go into her well-deserved retirement after 20 years of successful work with us.

Make sure to take a look at the poster corner, where you can find highly interesting contributions in digital form, and visit our photo corner and the ISAPS booth, which will welcome you with lots of information about our society.

In case you do miss something, just look at it online later! The entire virtual congress will be available to view and listen to online following the congress. This is the great advantage of the rapid development of the digital world in times of COVID-19.

I am looking forward to seeing you all again, even if only digitally - but safely.

WELCOME TO THE ISAPS VIRTUAL OLYMPIAD!

Sincerely,

Dirk RichterISAPS President

CEREMONYTime: 13:45 UTCHall: A

This year we are excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ISAPS. What began as a small group of

dedicated surgeons in 1970 has since grown to an internationally respected society with thousands of members, many of them top surgeons in their field. Over the years, our society has grown to

include members from all over the world, with over 107 different countries represented in our membership.

Not only have we brought individual surgeons together as ISAPS members, but we have helped create a worldwide network of national plastic surgery societies with the creation

of our Global Alliance, which to date has over 85 participating organizations. Let us look back at 50 years of education and outreach, of relationships fostered between

continents and across oceans, of progress in the field of aesthetic surgery, and of great ISAPS moments.

Together, we will raise a glass and toast to the first 50 years of ISAPS – and to 50 more!

During the official ceremony, ISAPS President Dr. Dirk Richter will hand over office to his successor, Dr. Nazim Cerkes.

CEREMONY IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE!

ISAPS has always been about bringing people together. Due to the special times we are living in right now, we aren’t able to meet in person – so we are excited to provide you with some other ways to network, chat, and get “digitally closer” during the Virtual Conference using social media.

VIDEO CHAT WITH PEERSConnect with your colleagues in the ISAPS Networking Lounge, hosted by Yotribe. Found in the Exhibition/Coffee Break area and at the ISAPS booth, Yotribe’s chat tool allows you to interact with other participants through video chat, audio chat, or text. Move your icon around the chat room and open up a conversation-bubble by moving near the person you want to talk to. Catch up with an old friend or join a group discussion! You will also find a Video Networking Chat in each Lecture Hall – click on the widget to discuss the lectures with your colleagues! SHARE YOUR PHOTOS ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA WALLAccess our online photo booth, where you will be able to take photos using your laptop camera and share them instantly to your social media accounts! When posting, use the following hashtags to have your photos automatically posted to our live social media wall: #isapsolympiad #isapsvirtual #isaps #myisapsAlready have a photo you’d like to share? You can also post an existing photo or video and have it shared to our social media wall — just make sure to use the hashtags above!

50TH ANNIVERSARY MESSAGESWe are looking forward to seeing your “Happy Birthday” wishes for ISAPS on the Social Media Wall – take a photo, alone or with friends and colleagues, and congratulate ISAPS on the past 50 years and the years still to come!

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATIONMENTOR® Breast Implants are indicated for breast augmentation, in women who are at least 18 years old, or for breast reconstruction. Breast implant surgery should not be performed in thosewomen with active infection anywhere in their body, those with existing cancer or pre-cancer of their breast(s), those who have not received adequate treatment for these conditions or those who arepregnant or nursing. There are risks associated with breast implant surgery. Breast implants are not lifetime devices and breast implantation is not necessarily a one-time surgery. Patients may require additional unplanned surgeries on the breast(s) because of complications or unacceptable cosmetic outcomes. Many of the changes to the breast(s) following implantation are irreversible (cannot be undone) and breast implants may affect the ability to breastfeed, either by reducing or eliminating milk production. The most common complications with MENTOR® MemoryGel® Breast Implants include re-operation, implant removal, capsular contracture, asymmetry, and breast pain. A lower risk of complication is implant rupture, which is most often silent (meaning neither you nor your doctor will know you have a rupture). The health consequences of a ruptured silicone gel breast implant have not been fully established. MRI screenings are recommended three years after initial implant surgery and then every two years after to detect silent rupture.

INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF AESTHETIC PLASTIC SURGERY

The World Congress has been postponed to

SEPTEMBER 9 – 12, 2021 VIENNA, AUSTRIA

ANNIVERSARY

After careful thought and consideration of the ongoing situation with coronavirus (COVID-19), the ISAPS Board of Directors has decided to postpone the upcoming ISAPS World Congress in Vienna, Austria to September 9-12, 2021.

We understand that this change is an inconvenience, but we are confident that it is the right decision.

As an international organization, it is our goal to provide a stimulating environment that both features speakers from around the world and is accessible to our members from over 100+ countries. At the moment, travel bans, limits

on event sizes, and social distancing measures are still in place in much of the world, and will likely remain in many regions. In light of this, we feel it is best to postpone the ISAPS World Congress for another year in order to ensure

that our members will be able to join us in Vienna, no matter where they are located.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during these trying times. Despite this difficult situation, we appreciate your support and are working hard to ensure the 25th ISAPS World Congress is a success.

We look forward to welcoming you in Vienna for the ISAPS World Congress in 2021!
