multimodal neuroimaging techniques including MRI and PET. Her research team is

also interested in promoting healthy ageing and well-being through non-

pharmaceutical interventions. In particular, Gaël Chételat is coordinating an H2020

European grant (www.silversantestudy.eu, PHC22, 2015-2020) investigating the

impact of English learning and meditation training on mental health and well-being in

ageing populations.

Agnes Flöel is Director of the Department of Neurology and Head of the Laboratory

for Cognitive Neurology at the University Medicine Greifswald. The Department of

Neurology treats around 8,000 patients yearly, including 1,000 patients with

neurodegenerative diseases, on in- and out-patient based platforms. Prof. Flöel has

conducted studies on healthy individuals and patients with neurodegenerative

diseases since 1999, ranging from epidemiological and cross-sectional cohorts to

proof-of-concept studies and Phase III randomised controlled clinical trials. These

studies aimed at elucidating the mechanisms underlying healthy and pathological

pharmacological and nutritional approaches, as well as non-invasive brain

stimulation.
