BONNIE & CLYDE 2011 Music by Frank Wildhorn, Lyrics by Don BlackBook by Ivan Menchell

Meet the most famous robbing, murdering, loving couple in U.S. history. From their fi rst meeting at a West Texas diner, through their tumultuous courtship and romance; from their brief, history-making crime spree to their fateful fi nal drive through Louisiana, this thrilling and sexy show evokes the 30’s depression era and the southern locale, using a score that combines Rockabilly, Blues, Gospel and more. Chases, escapes, poetry, family, prison assaults, dancing, betrayal and lots and lots and lots of gunfi re! All of the requirements of a bloody good musical!

DO I HEAR A WALTZ? 1965Music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Stephen SondheimBook by Arthur Laurents; Based on the play The Time of the Cuckoo, by Arthur Laurents

If you can’t fi nd love in Venice, where can you fi nd it? So thinks Leona Samish, an American spinster in search of the romance she’s been waiting for all her life. She does fi nd it, but along the way falls into a canal, makes new friends and gets lied to, cheated on, stood up and drunk. Vacations and romances don’t always turn out the way one hopes. Although the only Rodgers/Sondheim collaboration was a rocky one, it produced a beautiful, smart, romantic score. From the funny (“This Week Americans” and “What Do We Do? We Fly!”) to the beautiful and haunting (“Take the Moment” and “Stay.”) Oh, and then there’s this waltz…

A CLASS ACT (2001)Music and Lyrics by Edward KlebanBook by Linda Kline and Lonny Price

“Kiss today goodbye, the sweetness and the sorrow”; “God, I’m a dancer! A dancer dances”; “Everything is beautiful at the ballet!”Those lyrics, of course, are from among the most successful, beloved and longest-running Broadway shows of the last forty years. The intelligent, troubled, funny and gifted man who wrote them is the central character of A Class Act.  Both Michael Bennett and Marvin Hamlisch are among the other characters in the show, but you won’t hear any of those songs from A Chorus Line. The entire score of this quasi-autobiographical musical is made up of the lyricist’s other stuff—from unfi nished and unproduced shows. You’ll regret that he passed so early (just 48 years old!), but you won’t forget the generous talent, wicked humor and heartfelt passion of Edward Kleban.

THE PAJAMA GAME 1954Music and Lyrics by Richard Adler & Jerry RossBook by George Abbott & Richard Bissell; Based on the novel 7-1/2 Cents by Richard Bissell

A true classic from the Golden Age of Musicals that doesn’t show up as often as you’d like! Employees at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory will strike if they don’t get a raise of 7-1/2 cents an hour. New Superintendent, Sid, arrives to keep management strong. Local Union Leader, Babe, is there to get the workers their raise. Wanna guess what happens? But really, here’s everything you need to know about The Pajama Game: “I’m Not at All in Love”, “Hey There”, “Once a Year Day”, “There Once Was a Man”, “Steam Heat”, “Hernando’s Hideaway”, plus many more! Why don’t you have your tickets yet???
