Th i- Indian Standard was ado pted by the Bureau o fI ndia n Standards, a fte r the dr aft fina lized by the Textil eMaterials Made from Polyolcfins (Excluding Cordage) Sectional Committee had been approved by theTextile Division Council.
As usc of paper laminated high density pol ycthylcne(HDPE)/polypropylene (PP) fabr ic for wrapping/covering of heavy equipment and articles has increased significa ntly, the committee de cided 10
formulate Indian Standard o n the subject based on the data coll ected from the industry.
For th e purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this s ta nda rd is co mplied with, the finalvalue, obse rved or cal culated. expressing the result ofa test or ana lysis, sha ll be rounded offin accordancewith IS 2 : 1960 . Rules for round ing o ff numerical values (revised)' , The number of significa nt placesret ained in the rounded o ff value sho uld be the same as that of the specified value in thi s s ta nda rd.
