Isaac Asimov excites the reader with his many stories within the "I, Robot". However,

when the plot completely disagrees with the laws which he himself has written, the story

becomes confusing and interesting. From the beginning of the book to the very end it is showing

and talking about space, space travel, and etc. This book is filled with many interesting stories

mashed together in a way and makes the book as interesting as a book could get. It has many

twists and turns and you could never guess what’s going to happen on next! But on this journey,

friends only find out how decisive people could really be, but within their hearts they always

seem forgive and forget anything has ever happened to continue living there lives normally and

happily. But filled with fear of how the robots might come and destroy them or learn more about

the universe and life and take over the world and make humans there slaves.

In this book you learn a lot about space, and space travel and everything that has to do

with space. “Interstellar travel?” (1) Was a big idea in this book, as one of the major ideas in this

book and it was really surprising to learn that a robot had come up with this idea in this book. In

this book the idea of space travel between stars was made possible, people could freely just

travel from one star to another without hesitation. This is just one example of how one of the

books main themes was space travel.

Fear! Fear was a big thing in this book. Huge thing matter fact and it all started when the

NS-2 model got created. This made it possible for the robots to twist the three laws of robotics so

to speak. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to

come to harm. The three laws are : 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction,

allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human

beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its

own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws. With

the NS-2 model they got a brain installed within them which gave them the power to think for

themselves and either if they want or don’t want to obey those rules. But the more scary part was

it gave them the power to think and learn, which scared the humans dearly, because it could only

cause the robots to think for themselves and to want to protect one another instead of being the

humans little “pets”. When you’re reading this book you feel as if you are one of the humans and

you could sense all the fear that is flowing within everyone and could sense that if you were in

there position you would only be as scared as they are because what’s coming next is not pretty...

but deadly.

Deceive is so ugly when it happens, or you see it about to happen. “A few. It was on

government order and there was no way of violating the secrecy. No one was to know except the

top men directly concerned. You weren’t included, Susan. It was nothing I had anything to do

with.” (2) One of the first NS-2 models disappeared within all of the other robots in the facility

but since it got “The Brain” built within it has the ability to think and act, so it acted just like all

the other robots, so they called it Susan to help locate this robot... but she had no idea about the

NS-2 models. As Susan thought she was a member of the scientists and thought of them as her

“friends” turn out they had been hiding a huge secret from her. They only would think to tell her

about it when they needed something. Susan was overwhelmed and felt completely deceived and

made out to be a fool. But with all this going on she had no thoughts but that she had to help. She

knew what was to come out of this if she didn’t, so without a question she listened and tried to

figure out ideas of how to locate this lost robot. Oh how much a person’s perspective could

change once they have been deceived by someone they had once called a “friend”.

The amount of fear and deceive in this novel were portrayed a lot and were mostly

proving oh selfish people could really be. Showed how dreams could be reached such as space

travel even though it is only a dream now to travel to different galaxies, one day it will be

possible and people will get to live what is only a dream to us now a days. The main point of this

book is obviously clear. DON’T MAKE ROBOTS HAVE A BRAIN. Than the world could for

ever not have any fear, not be scared about some big news because of those robots, and would be

sad about not reaching distant galaxies but other than that it is all positive.
